Time Waits (colorful joint here) is from me, Chip Zdarsky, Marcus To, Marvin Sianipar, Matt Wilson, and Ariana Maher. It's about a man out of time, his no-nonsense wife, a nice kid they'd like to adopt, their weird but dedicated friend, and assassins from a hellscape future who want to kill them. A+

Ultimately, if you only have time to know one thing about all of this, just know that not a single solitary tech oligarch, tech company, or tech-backed politician has a single solitary serious commitment to the existence of Black political power or economic security in their plans for the future.

I would ask for a period-piece workplace drama set in the Ebony/Jet glory days but chances of that happening are <<<<<

Thinking about this makes me furious and is part of why I started my company btw. Don't let things die.

what exactly DOES happen to materials from a major studio that’s closed? where do physical hard drives, documents, etc go? who maintains all this pointless secrecy? if you know or have stories, get in touch: nathan@aftermath.site, nathangrayson.666 (signal), aftermathdotsite@proton.me (proton mail)

there's a bitter irony here: the 'fan protest' around the original ending of Mass Effect 3 was a blueprint for where we are now. Weaponization of consumer-uber-alles mindset, online brigading, etc.

This is a good dude right here

My mind was racing for hours after watching You Can See Everything at 9 PM. Treat it like a horror movie and see it during the daytime.

just got out of You Can See Everything and can't stop thinking about how Marshall McLuhan would gleefully smoke a bowl of Nathan Fielder's hair and get high as hell. And vice versa, obvs.

After years of championing "free speech," Texas lawmakers have enabled a dramatic rise of censorship in Texas universities, banning concepts, canceling courses and closing departments seen as "woke," and even using AI bots as censors. All in the name of freedom. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1...

here's the thing that stands out about Bagayoko's bravery to me: he may not be immediately legible as the mayor to cops. there's nothing stopping him from getting hurt but he's stepping into the breach anyway.

The mayor of Saint-Denis, Bally Bagayoko, literally used himself as a human shield to protect students from police violence

From Cape & Cowl Con, a live episode of Off Panel was recorded, as Dave Baker, Nicole Goux, Evan Narcisse, Eitan Manhoff, and I fantasy drafted (dumb) things from comics that make us love the medium — and it was a delight.
