NEWS: Dan Lanning announces that QB Dante Moore is not expected to return this season. He has not yet been cleared to play in games. Moore hasn't played since the concussion against USC on Sept. 26.

New Mexico turquoise unis are now tied with just about every Tulane combination for No. 1 in my uniform power rankings.

The New Mexico turquoise jersey with Route 66 helmet is so good.

If you're wondering how litigation between the SEC and LSU officials is going...A recent LSU filing said the SEC negligently supplied/hallucinated citations. SEC just filed something back saying those charges are "baseless, inflammatory, and wholly improper." So not cooling off?

The natural follow-up question to who is college football's all-time biggest underachiever...who is CFB's all-time biggest OVERachiever? Partially inspired by BYU's big win, I used math and vibes to come up with this definitive, inarguable ranking: www.nytimes.com/athletic/770...

In honor of Texas A&M's latest dud, I crunched a bunch of numbers to try to figure out which team is college football's all-time bigger underachiever. It's another part math/part vibes exercise, so I'm sure you'll agree with every ranking! Gift link: www.nytimes.com/athletic/768...

News: Ohio State coach Ryan Day says QB Julian Sayin is out indefinitely, and they’re putting together a plan in case he doesn’t return at all this season. Massive news that could change the college football season.

Our weekly Heisman straw poll will run later, per usual, but my ballot was all WR

Are the three best players in the country all wide receivers? Jeremiah Smith, Malachi Toney and Jesse Legree? I'd put Colin Simmons in the mix and a couple others, but the WR talent is unreal.

A beautiful mess at the end of the first half for Memphis-Tulane. Tulane throws a bad INT with <15 seconds left to put Memphis in FG range. Memphis throws a pick-six on the final play of the half. College football!

SEC QBs listed as questionable on the Wednesday night availability report: - Mississippi State’s Kamario Taylor - Florida’s Aaron Philo - Tennessee’s Faizon Brandon Also: - Alabama WR Ryan Coleman-Williams is out - Georgia S KJ Bolden is questionable

The SEC-Lane Kiffin/LSU legal spat could have died down. It hasn't, as evidenced by a court filing last night. The conference is still/again accusing LSU of lacking institutional control and pulled out this analogy. Gift link to the full story: www.nytimes.com/athletic/768...

I reviewed ESPN's 6-part docuseries, Saban. I still think Nick Saban the coach was a joyless robot. But now I know *why* he was a joyless robot, what a program looks like when it's led by a joyless robot and what is won and lost by being a joyless robot. Gift link: www.nytimes.com/athletic/766...

And yet, some people - including some in my own home! - chose to watch playoff baseball over this masterpiece smh
