Today I am taking a test to prove that I can communicate in English because reasons. The entry phone to the test centre does not work. You are expected to make enough of a fuss outside at 7:30am on a Saturday that the staff hiding out of sight will hear you.

Please arrive by 7:30 So that we can sit you in a waiting room and ignore you until the very last moment. Why do we treat private test takers in such bad ways? We are paying good money for this bad experience.

With small batteries they charge slowly and therefore hog fast chargers that could be delivering more power to a full EV. They only make financial sense if you can charge them at home and if you can charge them at home you could make better use of the charger with a BEV.

This isn’t something that can be easily fixed because of physics. A fast charging battery requires hundreds of volts spread across many, many cells. The small batteries in PHEV systems just can’t be built to safely absorb that much energy that quickly.

What blows my mind isn’t the price. It’s that the third decimal place needs to be presented as a fraction for the bunnies to understand it. You’re literally representing a fraction of a fraction.

chat is that good

What the actual flight. Downloaded videos are not available, despite downloading them beforehand, while on a plane because the app thinks I’m in a country that I’m not allowed to view the content in. That country: USA. @paramountplus.com this sucks. And it’s a great way to alienate people.

I do wonder what creates the bubble that people who write into local newspapers live in. The local paper has published a letter stating that Canada needs to abandon its HSR plans for a maglev. Never mind that the world’s longest maglev is just 30km compared to the 1,000km proposed Alto HSR.

Because Starbucks won't let you change an email address yourself but will allow you to delete an account guess what I did. Not allowing email address changes is crazy bad customer experience.

I did wonder when astrology and infosec would finally converge. Today will be a tumultuous day for Virgoans as their moon is rising indicating an increase in the likelihood of a DDoS attack.

Cybersecurity firm Trend Micro has announced a new cyber attribution framework and naming scheme for threat actors The new format is SHADOW-ELEMENT-NUMBER www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/us/sec...

Has anyone here ever successfully changed their email address? The verification logic seems to fall down - the click here link in the emails doesn't work and now I've tried to verify the address too many times. And @bsky.app support is not yet mature enough for me to trust they'll get it right.

There are some parts of the Eglinton Line that I really like. It’s smooth through the tunnels. It has more space internally than the streetcars. And the Mount Dennis complex has some nice building reuse.

But there’s some real bad in here too. Mobile signal is non existent in some of the tunnels and stations unless you’re with “the right carrier” and the sound quality of the announcements is beyond a joke on some of the trainsets.

Timings are hit and miss towards Mount Dennis as this is the direction where the trains come from the not yet prioritised outside world. Heading back from Mount Dennis they’re nicely spaced until they hit traffic.

I popped into the new Eglinton Line station. Given much of it has been complete for years I’m amazed that only two elevators already need maintenance. When Berlin had delays with their airport half the site needed maintenance or replacement by opening time.

This is so embarrassing. Only 5 places in the east of Canada to recycle a Brita cartridge. Meanwhile the UK website shows about that many for an area just to the north of a small city to the north of Birmingham. Clorox Corporation you need to get your act together and do the right thing here!

Thi seems like quite a story about how bad Canada Post can be. A country where virtually everything (Outside Quebec) is named after somewhere in the UK and they decided that Leicester was in Sri Lanka.

This post is unavailable.

Today is Day One at a new job for me. It’s been a while unemployed after emigrating from the UK to Canada. I’ve been lucky enough to find somewhere that has planned day one down to the extent of providing slack time, providing lunch, and filling the day with social activities such as meeting teams.

I’m not sure that Doug Ford could make any more missteps if he tried. He’s wrong on Bike Lanes. Wrong on Speed Cameras. Wrong on Metrolinx. Wrong on Tunnels. And now he’s wrong on Trade Wars. He’s costing Canada not just Ontario and he needs to go. Now! apple.news/A3eu7dzRCRfi...

Loving RBC’s EV savings calculator. It doesn’t list half the cars available as EVs but does list a bunch of plug in hybrids. 2 out of 5 here are EVs. The EX40 and EC40 are missing. The Dual motor EX30 is missing. 🤦‍♂️

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion. As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

The noise in Ontario surrounding speed cameras is just dumb. By calling them a cash grab the premier has now caused the trigger points to be released. He single handedly raised the effective speed limit in Toronto by 11km/h in a city that already has a speed problem…
