Installed macOS Golden Gate on an external drive to test & with my setup, it sucks. Superficially looks good, but it's terrible with mouse & pen events, not registering them sometimes, taking as many as 10 clicks to register. Ur experience may vary, but mine is that I won't be installing this crap.

Made carnitas today—slow cooked pork shoulder, cooked on the stove for about 3 hours, then browned in the oven for a half hour. Then I filled corn tortillas with this and cheddar and gouda and heated in the oven. You know, health food. Also made refried beans and Mexican rice. Proper lunch.

Sampling the weaker of this years' ciders. 8.3% abv, from Ida Red apples. The juice was sweeter than last year and the resulting cider seems, from memory, to have a more pronounced apple character. Success. Fermented down to .997. We'll try backsweetening with sucralose this year. Cheers!

Only right that as a brewer, I root for the Milwaukee Brewers. After watching nearly all of their games in the second half of the season, I'm attached to this team. Hope they go all the way.

After a week-long battle, I finally defeated the mosquito in my writing room because when I went to set up and write just now, it flew straight up, way up, my nose. I blew my nose, and there it was, dead.

All punk, death rock, all goth, when I was young, in the 80s, I wore mostly black, but that ended once I'd been out of Mom's house a few years. Because I got cats. Fur is the doom of black clothes. All these years later, I have a black cat (Nyx) & a torti (Efi) and they're better than black clothes.

At ~58 years old, with more & more friends and people I know dying, I spend more time being sad than ever in my life. Not as exciting as posting some social media success, right? Not looking for sympathy. I mean, I'm not dead. But sad that people I know, respected, and loved are dropping like flies.

A playblast from Blender, playing with animating Booleans. (For those who don't know, playblasts do a basic render from the viewport to check animation, not shaders/materials/surfacing.). #Blender

Yeah, a bit abstract. The whole point. Fucking around and trying to break everything. Playing in Blender. Here, I'm testing the displaced material. Will render a turntable overnight. Should take 7 hours or so to render 150 frames. #blender

Got edits back for my story "The Compassion of Predators" before it goes to print, and the way the e-mail was worded, I was all ready for disappointment, but the editor removed a single comma. That's it. For a flash piece of 962 words. Due out next weekend. Yay!

I based this Blender project on this specific ray gun. I didn't make it up. Found nearly ortho images and dropped those into Blender and modeled based on that. This original toy has no flashing light like I put in the red plastic area, but the gears do spin when the trigger is pulled, as I animated.

1950s ray gun done. I'll do a little thread. Turntable attached. I'm new to Blender. Been doing tutorials, but those get boring, so I did this little thing on the side, from reference. I did everything in Blender—modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, compositing. —continues #blender

The turntable vid has the trigger pull animated as well as the spinning of the gears and a light in the red plastic area, but for the stills I skipped that. These are a little higher quality render.
