Latest post is my own two cents on how, at least in the acting categories, whether we're on the verge of another OscarsSoWhite this year. Take a look! (Side note: While things aren't as bad here on the other place, still limited interactions to avoid hideous comments just in case.)

I’m on my way to campaign for @abdulelsayed.bsky.social Waking up to news that GOP is doubling down on their disgusting attacks on @amyactonoh.bsky.social in Ohio. They have no answer for costs, the war, corruption. So they are going to run the most vile closing campaign in our history.
This is unfortunate. Not only because Asia Kate Dillon is a terrific actor but how this is an ongoing trend with trans/non-binary actors. I mean, despite being an Oscar nominee with a scene-stealing role in a billion-dollar hit/BP frontrunner, Elliot Page said he's not getting flooded with offers.
Decided to share my two cents on the whole DIGGER fiasco surrounding its box office including how the big Hollywood merger looms large over it. Take a look!

*slight groan* As much as it's not too surprising because he's not politically vocal, still. *slight groan* Look, I don't expect celebs to give their stance on everything. But to be a celeb with a platform and say "I'm not political/I have no public stance" is pure cowardice.

Since the new RESIDENT EVIL movie is out, I did a write-up on how, even as it caused ire before its release for not being super-accurate, the perfect film adaptation is, and should remain, pure myth. Take a look!
My latest Fantastic Fest review of the Kazakh horror film ÜREI is now live. Take a look!!

Over at Substack is an article I've been nervous about writing on but is something I've been meaning to write into words: The debate involving celebrity activism and the nature of voice in our current political climate. Take a look!

My latest #FantasticFest review is of the slasher film PLATYPUS by Joshua Gratton. Take a look!
My first #FantasticFest review is of Agata Trzebuchowska's feature directorial debut SICK, which I preferred when it acted as a "growing old is scary" thriller rather than when it more risque mode. Take a look!
Over at Substack, I did an overview/reminder of Best Director being potentially another all-male five being deeper than just AMPAS plus the Natalie Portman meme that circulates every awards season. Take a look!
Since I'll be (virtually) covering Fantastic Fest this year, I did a write-up on some of my most anticipated festival titles. Take a look!!
My remote review of Anuparna Roy's LOVERS IN THE BLUE NIGHT, which premiered at Venice, is now live on Substack. Take a look!
