Like most others, I’m pretty jaded about the experience of flying but I recently flew over the Alps from Prague to Treviso and I was reminded of the absolute miracle of flight and our planet. Teared up like a damn baby.

Spent a wonderful evening at the equally wonderful Book Suey in Hamtramck, MI, to talk about my new book! A huge thanks to Preservation Detroit for organizing this very fun event and another thank you to everyone that bought a copy tonight.

What a night! A massive thank you to the Chicago Architecture Center for hosting the (sold out!) launch and signing of my new book, ART DECO WORLD, earlier this week. I hope you've been able to snag a copy, but if you're running into backorders, I'm assured there's more stock coming soon!

However, these tickets for my book launch at the Chicago Architecture Center are almost all gone. Reserve your spot before they’re snatched up!

There are still spots available for this if you’re in the Detroit area! I’d love to see you there.

Detroiters and Michiganders! I’m giving a talk on Art Deco World next month—I’d love it if you joined: www.eventbrite.com/e/art-deco-w...

The filming locations in this show are so egregious to the point of distraction. I watched this exact scene with a friend who has never even been to DC and he immediately clocked it as incorrect.

This is also mostly set in the late 80s/early 90s. The amount of buildings they walk past that clearly postdate that period is mind-boggling. 😵‍💫

Weather sucked today so I stayed in and made vampiros tacos, esquites, salsa, and rice (pico de gallo and pasta salad not pictured) from scratch instead 🫃🏽

Went to Cincinnati this weekend for the first time. You know I had to make this my priority: Cincinnati Union Terminal (1933) by Roland A. Wank of Fellheimer & Wagner and Paul Philippe Cret.

The terrific variety of architecture centered around Fuente de la República, including the first building pictured, Edificio El Moro, formerly the tallest building in the city and one whose Art Deco character has sadly been taken away.
