Some fun green cards: these all came out so nice! I had made others too but these are what ended up in the final deck. Survival is amazing, halfling is creepy but in a good way.

xaM

@maxeart.bsky.social

And finally some fun blue cards: Gilded Drake is undisputed strongest work in the deck. FoW is a ripple foil I'm pretty sure, transmute is so fun, wanshi got the goofy look I love, Field of dreams is one of those cards I always knew the art but never the card.

Fetchlands: these were a really early addition and some of my first attempts with stripping foils. They're fine for what they are but I'm looking forward to doing more!

xaM

@maxeart.bsky.social

Mox: these are hands down some of the best work in the deck. Chrome in particular is phenomenal. I sold the uv opal I had so I fell back to an earlier version. Photos at an angle because the flat black is even more reflective than foils.

Alters first: basics are from a Rothko series I did, tower and ring are based on the commander's art, Elves are pretty standard, guide based off Navi from Zelda.

xaM

@maxeart.bsky.social

Non basic lands: these were a lot of fun, you'll see I try to keep to the original artwork for most of my proxies. Otawara is hands down the weakest of the deck but that's okay. Gemstone is hard to read white on silver, Academy Ruins turned out so nice, really happy with all of these.

First, the decklist: moxfield.com/decks/okv5H6... I'm going to go through the alters and proxies I made for this deck, not necessarily dig into the strategy as it is a rube goldberg deck. Apologies in advance, the alt text will be pretty minimal, the post text should be pretty descriptive.

Extra burned out, went 1-3 yesterday and got 29th/51. Mentally I'm kicking rocks, debating the fate of this cedh homebrew Lonis Lantern deck that I've dumped a significant amount of time into. Also super crusty about how cliqueish the cedh scene is at my lgs but that's another rant. 🖕

We begin to understand our misunderstanding of geometry in the hell between worlds. The steady stream of souls pass under a portal, a wicked hole punched into the illusion of reality. Above we see the counter point, where two grand magi siphon power from a higher plane. #art #painting #hellscape

Today's Technique: Take a Break The work will still be there tomorrow. Take a break before your body breaks you, before you break your body. Make a nice cup of tea and go sit out on your porch wearing a comfy sweater and dual wield the mug, take long sips and go ahhhh a bunch. #art #mtg #life

Today was frustrating. Picked up lunch to take to mom since she's still recovering from surgery. Parking lot was packed, there was somebody doing work on the store's sign, and notably an asshole was parked across two spots near the entrance. On my way out I saw that the driver was the sign guy.

Took a picture to get the name off the back of his shirt and his truck stradling two spaces in the same shot. He yells at me, calls me a jackass. I leave and once I cool down I look up the company and leave a one star review. The receipt for my food had an online survey code and I let them know too.

DUMPSTER DRAFT!! Having some friends over for a Dumpster Draft tonight and figured I'd share the fun with you. Format details and the night's updates to follow. 1/? #mtg #magic #dumpster #trash #draft #sealed #pauper #cube #chaff #slag #free #fun

Shuffle. Yes, the whole thing. Get your guests to help. If you're doing draft, count out 15/16 card packs. If you wanna keep it simple, play sealed, each player gets 100 to build with. Basics provided.

xaM

@maxeart.bsky.social

((Don't tell my guests but I'm planning to determine winner by popular vote at the end of the night and am planning to put up a 5-set of altered basics as first place, plus a single altered basics for everyone else.))

I'm insane and built mine singleton but you are under no such obligation. I raided my bulk but you can add any rarity, just keep in mind these cards will likely not get sleeved.

xaM

@maxeart.bsky.social

The purpose of the dumpster is to allow individuals to travel with a simple, easy to play, draft format. Great for experienced players and new. No buy in, no need for prize structure (but encouraged), no need for brackets. Just fun.

How to fill your dumpster: First choose a box and approximate how many cards it will hold, in my case I went with a 1000 long box. Fill it with cards! There is no list or requirements. I'll go over my process but ultimately if you build one you get to choose what goes in it.

xaM

@maxeart.bsky.social

Divide your total by 8 (1000 ÷ 8 = 125) and add equal portions of each of the five colors, colorless, multicolor, and non basic lands. Keep an eye on cards types and costs, it's easier to pull out too many and then put some back. I varied by color but tried to keep it less than 50% creatures.
