i switched to a Zune in 2024. they're like $50 on eBay still and i get along with it more mentally. there's a nice, non-vibecoded library management app for modern Linux and macOS out there. there's modern options from Innoasis and some of the nice Chinese companies. buy one of those instead!

iPod launched 25 years ago today. this is my 160GB iPod classic that was $10 on Craigslist in 2021. these cost like $200 now. I think it's good that people are desperate for media ownership. I wish it didn't come at the benefit of reseller trash, and I wish people knew about other good mp3 devices.
