I already did one of these about battery powered tools, but how about beer? When I started drinking, you had your pick of shitty domestic lagers or more expensive, but still pretty shitty foreign lagers. The only dark option was Guinness.
Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

This is a perfect Nazi weapon. “Does it work?” “Absolutely!” “Is it practical and mass producible?” *stares off to the horizon silently*
A captured German 75/55 mm Pak 41 gun was tested in the USSR #OTD in 1942. Since only 6 rounds were captured, the trials were limited. This was a very rare weapon, as every round of ammunition used a kilogram of precious tungsten. #artillery #history #WW2 #WWII

Imagine any D/R saying the same thing about a Soviet leader during the Cold War, and the reaction from their own party alone.
“Calling Putin a humanitarian is like calling Hannibal Lecter a humanitarian, although there is more of a case to be made for Hannibal because he does, at least, subsist on people.” @petridishes.bsky.social on Steve Witkoff’s recent remarks to the Russian president:

The County-Class cruisers of the Royal Navy and Royal Australian Navy were some of the most distinctive Allied ships of the Second World War. Built from 1926 in compliance with the Washington Naval Treaty, they initially displaced 10,000 tons, though this increased over time. 📷 William Howard Jarvis

Here’s of things that lasted longer than the Third Reich: Keeping Up with the Kardashians Development of Duke Nukem Forever NASA's Opportunity Rover The wait for Top Gun: Maverick The wait for Incredibles 2 The wait for Avatar: The Way of Water Construction of Berlin Brandenburg Airport The Simpsons
I don't think i'd call myself a new Nazi. 1st because "Nazi" is a pejorative invented by the Jews. Second because that is too limiting a philosophy that made sense in Germany at the time. I'm a segregationist but I think FBA absolutlely has a place in America, as do Asians &Indians (feather not dot)

I agree with Bell on the central point but I doubt current PRC leadership will include Confucian principles in their calculations about attacking Taiwan.
Daniel Bell, a professor of political theory at the University of Hong Kong, discouraged a Chinese invasion of Taiwan through the lens of Confucianism at a Wednesday talk at the Harvard Kennedy School. John L. Cameron and Samuel B. Kahn report. www.thecrimson.com/article/2026...
