🤣This might be the single greatest miscalculated hit piece in history. They may as well have titled the article, "If you like Obama (and you do) you'll love Mamdani!" Using police resources to play basketball? This is great! And it makes the "whistleblowers," sound like some petty, salty, haters.

🤯Whoa... Getting mad at Black and brown New Yorkers just for having fun and playing basketball? This police academy training is AMAZING! Graduate all these cadets early! This class is ready! Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the NYPD class of 2027!

They really had 3 people working on this story? How? This is like that time when they assigned a crack team of elite pocket watchers to do a 24/7 stake out of Rama Duwaji's "Rent the Runway" account. It took at least 7 top "journalists" to say, "Socialism?! Then how BOOTS, huh?! How BOOTS!!!"🤡

🤔It's such a weird phenomenon: the white guys that can actually win a Fields medal in math, or a Nobel prize in Chemistry? Know that there are Arabs and Persians and Turkish folk that do the same♥️ It's the most mediocre, untalented, "my daddy handed it to me!🤡" white dudes that say stuff like this.

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

Retweeting this to "help" the GOP... by broadcasting this important campaign message... That reminds the *checks notes* 400,000 registered US citizen voters in Michigan that have lived experience being unfairly screened by the TSA and suspected of terrorism.🤡

Women were 84% as likely to vote for Trump as men. In prewar Germany, women were 82% as likely to vote for Hitler as men. Men's brains may have been cooked, but if so, they were cooked by an ancient evil far older than the internet.🤷🏿‍♂️

Jamison Foser@jamisonfoser.bsky.social

men have always been pretty questionable but imo not enough people have really wrapped their heads around how thoroughly the internet has cooked men's brains over the last ~15 years.

Most Americans think Kate Winslet is more "assimilated 🤡" into American culture than Lucy Liu. This is just pure racism. Both Kate Winslet and Lucy Liu would disagree that Kate Winslet is more assimilated. Because...

Who gets to be American? When surveyed people said that Kate Winslet is more American than Lucy Liu. Kate Winslet has never been American. Lucy Liu has never not been American. Some Chinese American families have been here since 1815. How long is needed to prove their loyalty? Another 200 years?

No. Talarico is not like El-Sayed. Not at all. When El-Sayed hires a GOP policy advisor that wrote the policies attacking Black women? Then you can compare the two. But hey, 500 likes of mostly white people, agreeing with other white people, that Black Texas voters have nothing to complain about.🤷🏿‍♂️

Ariel@ari-el222.bsky.social

he’s also given multiple speeches on this and has really been trying with outreach both during the primary and now. I think the media just really wants Black voters to abandon Dems. Talarico had more time to show this narrative was completely bunk but it really mirrors that coverage too

Many white folk are convinced that Black voters are swayed by "The media" more than our lived experience.🤡 They're convinced that they know *more* about the policies that harm Black people than Black people do. The reality is that they know *less* about racist policies and are *more* media swayed.

White folk spend *billions* every year on police forces but genuinely don't even know what police do most of the time.🤦🏿‍♂️ Because their view of police is formed by "the media" and cop shows like Law And Order.🤡 Black folk do know what police actually do most of their time. Because they do it to us.🤷🏿‍♂️

That stat is startling! But this is what I mean when I say that Americans only notice horrific things that happen to Black people, when they start happening to non-Black people🤷🏿‍♂️ Ferguson, MO has 14K Black people. It issued ~20K racist citations a year against them🤯, leading to ~30K arrest warrants.

Again, there is no immigrant in America that has been stopped and harassed by ICE, more times than I have been stopped and harassed by cops. And I am not even in the top 10% of Black people harassed by cops.🤷🏿‍♂️ The massive scale up of ICE that we have seen for 2 years? Is every year for Black people.

We're worried about the police making life in Ingram uncomfortable for immigrants? To ethnically cleanse them? We say this without a shred of irony, while talking about Ingram Texas, a city in the US state with *the most Black people*! But where less than 1% of the population is Black?🤔

Some of the same people that tell me online that "woke 1 went too far🤡" also tell me that ICE is horrific and dystopian and doesn't target the criminals, but targets all immigrants, 98% of whom are non-violent. Again, there are the same number of immigrants as Black people in the US, ~50 million.

One of the things I dislike most about football, and why I hate quarterbacks, is this silly double standard where QBs like this are allowed to get angry and yell at teammates and coaches and it's acceptable leadership🤡 But if linebackers or defensive ends do it it's seen as disruptive behavior? 🙂🙃

The right criticized Obama and talked about him incredibly disrespectfully and that's completely OK. But Black folk point out Trump's obvious fails, and folk try to say that we are disrespecting the office of the president? 🤔Who makes up these silly rules? What happens if we don't follow them?

Rasheem Biles is undoubtedly a leader on the team, and is a better player than Arch Manning. Is he allowed to yell at coaches and players on the sidelines too? When he makes a big play and is fired up, can he come to the sidelines and yell at the defensive coaches like that? Why or why not?

It's all part of the USA's silly standard of who's allowed to criticize the way things are going. MAGA are allowed to say that America is not great now, and that's totally acceptable. But Black people can't say "Hey, the US should be improved somewhat" without triggering an allergic reaction.

Answering earnestly: That's not quite what they convinced these voters. They didn't convince them that they were just going after "the criminals.🤷🏿‍♂️" They convinced them that they were just going after *Black people*. Eg, they convinced racist Cubans that racist Haitians would get hurt.

This phenomenon is very difficult to understand if we don't examine anti-Blackness in immigrant communities. Talk to a Haitian American living in Miami for a PhD level dissertation on the topic. Or talk to a Black person that's been to Downey California for a Doctoral thesis on it.

The anti-racist parts of the Cuban American, Mexican American, and Arab American communities, were not taken in by Trump's tall tales. ♥️👍🏿 The dog whistles were clear to anyone that wanted to see them. The only thing that was unclear, was who was considered undesirable.

And they convinced racist Mexicans that they were going after Black Americans. And they convinced racist Middle Eastern people that they were going after Black Americans. We tried to tell Hispanic MAGA and Middle Eastern MAGA before the election that no, they hate you too. They didn't listen.🤷🏿‍♂️

[CW: Bend Oregon school shooter bystander testimony] Seriously, you don't have to watch this. But if you can, it's important. Normal human beings cannot take a human life without suffering extreme psychological trauma. Even if they believe that the life-taking was necessary. They cannot unsee.

[CW: Uvalde testimony] School cops are useless for anything other than harassing kids. This off-duty cop wasn't even on site, but drove to Uvalde from a county over, got on site, linked up with BORTAC, breached with them, and stopped the shooter. He went in. School cops did not.

And again, before ICE, BORTAC was scary not because they wore scary looking masks. And they weren't scary because they were highly trained. They were scary because they were composed of individuals that were both self-selected and government screened to *not* have a normal reaction to taking life.

Mekka Okereke@mekka.mekka-tech.com

Uvalde is a primarily Hispanic city. There's a special forces unit in Border Patrol, that doesn't care about migrants looking for work, and doesn't care about students overstaying visas. This unit has been transformed from a force saving Hispanic kids from danger, to tyrants ruining their lives🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️

I can't begin to explain how dangerous and irresponsible it is to take BORTAC operators and give them an ICE detention quota, and set them loose on American streets. Having BORTAC agents arresting nonviolent people, is silly. Having school cops arresting Black kids in elementary school is too.

Again, School Resource Officers are not effective at stopping school shooters, but they are effective at arresting Black kids for trivial things that people shouldn't be arrested for. Only 10% of Oregon students are Black, but ~57% of arrests by school Resource officers are Black.

Agree. One of the coolest things about being Black, is that all the silly rules of "Real men aren't allowed to do X or Y!🤡" don't bother us at all. We don't let weird dudes like Jesse Watters tell us how to live. There's a whole category of rap songs of gangsters rapping about their Goyard bags.🤷🏿‍♂️

I'm not saying that you should spend $100,000 on a bag. Don't do that. And your "favorite things" that you want to carry around, should be something other than a Draco or half a ticket. But if you want to carry a bag? Carry a bag. I promise you that your masculinity will survive.
