To celebrate all the recent love for #Hoi and #MoonChild, I fired up @aseprite.org to create some new Hoi and MC pixel art, for the first time in ± 30 years. 😃💚 For the scenery, I used my tiles for the Amiga version, combined with the Windows version's mountains and night sky background.

It is now 9 years since Sonic Mania came out 😱... another trivia nugget: at one point we had a screen that showed you the animals that were inside the Heavies giving them their personalities! It didn't make the cut (maybe didn't comply with brand guidelines or there wasn't enough time IDK)

In the early 2000s, Nintendo partnered with Hi-C on a promotional campaign that put iconic Nintendo characters on juice boxes. I wanted to throw a fun “what if?” into the mix: what if Sonic had been part of that collab to help promote DX?
