It’s webpocalypse today but I’m also at the Save RIPTA Retreat scheming about improving transit in Rhode Island

Why do Rhode Islanders need more homes? 'Who can help when an aging mother needs groceries or a father can no longer drive. Who raises children near their cousins and grandparents. Who gets to say, decades later, "I grew up here," and still mean here.’ Read in full here: buff.ly/EXPMUyD?

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

Throw back to our 1st ever Learners Welcome! Workshop. On November 7th, we’ll host John Reuter from @strongtowns.org at Newman Congregational Church. In this session, he will show how the way we build our communities shapes their financial future. Sign up today! buff.ly/5EahzdE

What a strange story. California woman finds a man, allegedly drunk, sleeping on her lawn early in the morning & sends her dad out to move him. The man wakes up & allegedly assaults the (elderly) dad, who shoots him Turns out the man is off-duty ICE agent David Gonzalez abc7.com/story/off-du...

Fantastic movie. The live narration was such a treat. Much thanks to @growsmartri.bsky.social, @neighborswelcomeri.bsky.social & making this possible. This film has raises many questions about our communities & housing. What do we do with our vacant spaces, with underutilized commercial property?

Every month, ICE kidnaps dozens of Rhode Islanders, leaving behind traumatized children & broken families. EP hasn't been spared. EPiC members wrote an LTE in The Post urging state & local leadership to do more to protect our immigrant neighbors. Read the letter: www.eastbayri.com/east-provide...

Got my COVID booster last week. I would like to encourage all of my friends and neighbors to do their part in keeping preventable sickness and disease at bay as we enter the cooler months. If you won't do it for me, do it for him.

Yesterday, four EPiC members attended the Unitarian Universalist Legislative Ministry of Rhode Island Fall Forum in East Greenwich. It was a great afternoon with folks who are fighting for clarity and justice all across our state.

Attending the Unitarian Universalist Legislative Ministry of Rhode Island’s Organizing for Action Fall Forum. "Part of the strategy of fascism is to make us feel siloed and alone..." — Jocelyn Foye We're definitely not alone! Just look at how many amazing folks are in this space!

Focusing on the high cost of affordable housing risks overlooking a more important reality: the biggest challenge is not affordable housing itself, it is the layers of state and municipal regulation that get in the way of building the homes all Rhode Islanders need. buff.ly/3KEt38W

We’re looking forward to seeing this protected bike path connection on First Street come to fruition. Thank you to Mayor DaSilva and the administration for moving our city forward on bike and pedestrian safety.

We stopped by PVDFest & loved seeing the huge show of support for better transit. It was amazing to see so much community support for more transit options, more trains, & more frequent service between Providence & New Haven. Learn more about the study here: newhavenprovidencestudy.com

In these trying times, it is important to have an AG that is willing to stand up to a federal government that does not have our best interests in mind. 3/3

I'm very happy to be supporting Keith Hoffmann for RI AG. Keith has a measured approach to interfacing with our legal system, and possesses a lot of institutional knowledge that will allow him to ensure that our most vital institutions are fair and just. 2/3

Enjoyed an afternoon out in East Providence at the PVD Food Truck Event at Munroe Dairy's Sacred Cow Ice Cream Shop and Market. It was great running into friends, neighbors, and folks running for office, especially as the primary is coming up this Wednesday, September 9th. 1/3

This morning, we dug into the economics of building more homes with the inimitable Ivy Vann. The math can be complicated, but understanding what gets built, what it costs, and why is essential to solving RI’s housing shortage. Full recap coming soon!
