Regarding recent news about Geordie Greep I've always looked up to Geordie ever since I started listening to Black Midi back in high school. Seeing someone so proficient at an age not much greater than my own was a huge source of inspiration as I was starting to get into making more music.

In spite of this, I hope that he can learn from this experience, that he needs to get sober and stop acting like the people he satirized on his own album. He remains a generational talent, but that will all be wasted if he can't get his shit together.

The best thing he can do right now is probably admit that he has a drinking problem and that it's not an excuse for what he did. I imagine he's going to want to leave the public eye, and that things will never really be the same, but I think truly admitting his fault would be a great start.

When the allegations first dropped I really hoped there was a misunderstanding that spiraled out of control, but reading the victim's statement and seeing it was corroborated by several of his touring band members was extremely disheartening.
