Bit late, but wanted to finalize my top 10 games for 2025 before the ResetEra GOTY vote deadline. Turns out that got extended, ha, but I'm locking these in regardless. Living through 2025 was grim, but good games and good friends did a lot to help get me through. Some new all-timers in my top 5.

It was Alien: Isolation then and it’s still Alien: Isolation now. Captures the mood and aesthetic of the original film so perfectly, and one of my favorite examples of enemy intelligence in a horror game.

Quote this with what you would have said your game of the year was at the end of 2014, if you had one, and what you would say your favourite game of 2014 is now, if it differs Localisations and early access count, remasters don't. Remakes depend Refresher list: backloggd.com/games/lib/po...

With 100% confidence: Not just my undisputed Game of the Year, but easily my new #2 game of all-time right behind Final Fantasy X. Truly a once-in-a-console generation level experience. I’ll be thinking about it always going forward.

Definitely the best Game Awards ever. You can tell Geoff and his team really took the feedback from last year's show to heart. Psyched for so much announced tonight, but if I had to pick just 5 games: -Split Fiction -New Fumito Ueda game -Okami sequel -Stage Fright -Intergalactic

Love to see it. MachineGames does it again. The modern Wolfenstein games are fantastic (though I’m in the camp that much preferred The New Order over The New Colossus), so I can’t say I’m too surprised. Not a big Indy fan, but still excited to dive in.

I think Indiana Jones might be my game of the year. It’s Hitman meets Dishonored and I am having an absolute blast. Kudos MachineGames, you’ve knocked it out of the park

Voted in the Game Awards! Personal GOTY is the Silent Hill 2 remake, but given the options happy to give it to my runner-up for 2024: Metaphor: ReFantazio. One of Atlus's best; alongside Persona 3 and SMT: Nocturne for me. Didn't pick SH2 for Narrative + OST cuz I rather a new game win those.

Like most, wouldn't want Shadow of the Erdtree to take GOTY. Elden Ring's one of my all-time favorites, and I loved Erdtree, but Elden Ring received its flowers back in 2022 when basically every publication rightfully gave it GOTY. Would be happy with either Metaphor or Astro Bot winning.

Quality of Life improvement #1 with a bullet: Please make it easier to put your team together for exploring/missions from the menu, Monolith Soft. Having to walk around New LA and manually move people in and out of the party was a pain, haha. #xenobladex #xenoblade

Finished the Silent Hill 2 remake earlier. As someone that grew up watching playthroughs of the PS2 original (cuz I was too scared to play it), I'm thrilled to have finally played an excellent version of this game and experience its masterpiece story for myself. Genuinely loved it; easily my GOTY.

Genuinely the scariest game I've ever played, btw. Basically played through each section of the game in 2-4 hour chunks and had to take day long breaks in-between sessions, haha. Really gets its hooks in you.

Not me ordering a pizza for dinner last night just so I could pantomime this iconic scene when my wife and I got to the Easter egg referencing it in the Silent Hill 2 remake.

Mostly used the other site as a means to follow cool people I like and respect in the games industry, and never really posted much myself, but maybe I'll be more active here? We'll see how it goes, ha. Glad to see most of the people I followed are set-up here. X/Twitter is a cesspool.

You are up to date.
