My first time seeing Aldous Harding and it won’t be my last. Such a great show at Underground Arts in Philly. The opener Sam Burton was great too.

Love and thanks to @magnetmagazine.bsky.social for declaring THE CONFUSER an instant classic! Here's a podcast that covers the making of the album featuring self, producer Brad Jones, and executive producer @emmaswiftsings.bsky.social

So sad to hear about the untimely passing of Glen Hansard. The first time I became aware of him and his music, was at Carnegie Hall during the St. Paddy’s Celebration honoring the lifes of Sinéad O’Connor and Shane MacGowan, of which he was a large part. I was instantly a fan. RIP

We’re Squandering LEDs’ Potential to Save Our Night Skies. “Our main failure isn’t a technical one. It’s that we have yet to revise our thinking about lighting at night. We use LED technology just as we did the old sources of light.” [spectrum.ieee.org]

Spread this far and wide. WOW.

Thanks to @robynhitchcock.bsky.social and @emmaswiftsings.bsky.social for a fantastic evening of music last night at the Ardmore Music Hall. Nothing like a splash of melodic nihilism to vault you into summer.

@gruber.foo I thought you would appreciate this interview with Apple’s Jon McCormack on his forthcoming photography book. Some amazing images, insights and even an Atkinson story. youtu.be/XbtSiUoGgFI?...

New from me: The first post of a series documenting the brazen lies DHS has told after abuse and violence by ICE and Bordrer Patrol officers. First up: The bumbling, illegal raid on ChongLy Scott Thao and his family.

A view of the night sky from Mars. (Yes, really)

Update: The U.S. military confirmed that all six crew members on an KC-135 aircraft died after the refueling plane went down in western Iraq, raising the U.S. death toll after two weeks of war with Iran.

Congrats, Rob! Well deserved.

It didn’t take long for this pairing to make sense to the teenager version of me.

Is there a better way to start the day? The answer is no.

Today we release the greatest immersive experience ever created in the history of comedy or cinema on the Theater app for Vision Pro. My friend @billcorbett.bsky.social and his friends Michael, Kevin and Jean-Claude present “Timecop” live in front of an audience, in immersive 3D. The future is now.

What a fantastic show at the Bowery Ballroom! I’m so glad I made the trip from Philly. Voice or no voice @robynhitchcock.bsky.social did not disappoint. Autumn Sunglasses will never leave my head.

@robynhitchcock.bsky.social I feel like this is too easy to recommend, but if you find yourself passing through Philly on your current tour, there’s a new Surrealism at 100 exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. www.visitpham.org/exhibitions/...

My non-scientific AirPods Pro 3 noise canceling test reveals that I can listen to podcasts/audiobooks while mowing the lawn and easily understand what is being said. Much better! I still need third-party ear tips.

Eggplant has a reputation of being bitter, seedy, even greasy at times, but a few small considerations can make it excellent. nyti.ms/45TKAW6

@snell.zone I picked up an Oru during the July 4th sale. While it has some limitations, the ease, transportation and storage has been a game changer. For me, being on the water is the best meditation. (In case you needed a recommendation from some random guy on the internet.)

What a fantastic show last night at Upper Merion Township’s Concert Under The Stars series. It’s always amazing hearing live Talking Heads music, especially from Jerry Harrison, Adrian Belew and a wonderful backing band! So much fun! #RemainInLight #TalkingHeads #Concert @umtownship.bsky.social

A man died at Milan Bergamo Airport on Tuesday after being sucked into a jet engine on the runway, an airport spokesman said. He was neither an airport employee nor a passenger. The airport did not say how he had accessed the runway.

@willsergeant.com I’m wondering if British sculptor, Barry Flanagan was a fan of the @bunnymen.com?

I really need to get back to Ricketts Glen. I would’ve bet it’s been two years, but it’s already been three. #waterfalls #pennsylvania

I’ve been having a lot of fun playing with the new Spacial Scenes feature in the Photos app in iOS 26 (iPadOS, in my case). Now I just have to remember to shoot my images a tad wider to allow for the calculation. People are gonna love this.

PRO TIP: When dropping a glass bottle, do your best to make sure it’s not labeled Olive Oil.

@andrewhunterm.bsky.social can we talk about episode 581 of Fish where it was said, “I’ve started not An American Werewolf in London, but The Last of the Mohicans…”? 😂

Fantastic night of music at Union Transfer in Philly with Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory, with Love Spells opening. She’s come quite a long way, in all the best ways, since the first time I saw her in 2008 at the side chapel at the First Unitarian Church. She never disappoints. #UTPhilly

An absolute favorite of mine as well.

Most notably the frontman of the Welsh band The Alarm, Mike Peters is seen here fronting the band Big Country at The Note in West Chester, PA in 2013. RIP

@davidpierce.xyz Could the Instagram iPad app really just be a foldable phone app? The “why now?” timing seems to make sense. I still use Flickr, so what do I know.

A wonderful conversation with @emmaswiftsings.bsky.social & @robynhitchcock.bsky.social about Tiny Ghost and more. And here’s proof of polka dots with polka dots. (Philly 2018). devalued.show/episodes/a-f...
