This was a new movie for me and a great conversation to end the Official Crestwood House season. Unofficially, we have one more episode coming on Friday with the second part of our annual @hellbentforletterbox.com crossover, so the Halloween party continues!

We’re almost at Halloween, and that means we’ve reached the final episode of Season 6 of Crestwood House. On this last dive into AIP films, co-host @shawnrobare.com resurrects @paxholley.com & @michaelmay.bsky.social to watch the 1974 blacksploitation Sugar Hill! cultfilmclub.com/crestwood-ho...

I like that Peter Cushing seems to be wearing roughly the same outfit he wore as Dr. Who.

The third Peanuts special, the Emmy-nominated "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," was first broadcast 60 years ago, on October 27, 1966. (The special lost the Emmy Award to Hanna-Barbera’s largely forgotten adaptation of β€œJack and the Beanstalk”…huh??)

Btw, this was a super fun episode! It also proved how little of a game person I am β€” and that’s okay! I was proud of my SAW game, and I was wayyyy impressed by everyone else’s far superior thought process! Thanks for having me on @afterlunch.bsky.social β€” happy Halloweek! πŸ’•πŸŽƒ

Every Gothic starter pack needs a monster, a haunted house and a terrible secret. πŸ•―οΈπŸ–€ From Frankenstein and Carrie to Rebecca and Wuthering Heights, these Folio books promise a descent into darkness. Which are you pulling from the shadows first?https://www.foliosociety.com/

More goth playlist scouting. Neither of these albums are fully the vibe I'm looking for, but I did add "Stripped" from Black Celebration.

More goth playlist scouting. I added the whole Clan of Xymox compilation. All right down my alley. Skeletal Family is pretty great too, especially their covers of the Batman '66 theme and "Stand By Me" (which everyone covered in the '80s).

How about a 2-part crossover? Marvel was fond of these in the Bronze Age. β€’ Gil Kane, Tom Palmer, and John Romita covered Tomb of Dracula 18 (1973). β€’ Mike Ploog covered Werewolf by Night 15 (1973).

Got myself locked out of Bluesky somehow! But I’m back and with a ton of Tolkien art to share! Here is a miniature I painted this week as part of #tolktober The Grey Pilgrim
