The Ramaswamy ad has pushed the largest newspaper in Ohio, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, to reverse its position on endorsements. "A candidate who uses childhood sexual abuse as a weapon against the person who endured it has crossed a line that Ohioans should defend, whatever their party."

Took a carful of middle school girls to a haunted maze last night. Beforehand they said they didn’t need a parent with them this year. Then as we got to the front of the line, they all changed their minds. By halfway through the maze I was getting pushed through every door and around the corners.

And I was worried #Crew96 were going to play tired today. Thinking about how Abou Ali had 5 goals in 500 odd minutes before his injury and what this offense will look like next year.

A terrifically quick counter goes 80 yards. Chambost picks up some loose change in the box, sqares to Lennon, who has the entire net to shoot at and doesn’t miss. It’s 4-0 #Crew96 over Tronna. Aboot 30 minutes remaining. Great work by Taha, who was dragged down but still got ball into the box.

Scrolling for a movie, saw Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, an idea too stupid to contemplate. But Pride & Prejudice & Vampires? Now we’re cooking! A mysterious stranger rents a long empty mansion, exciting the attention of all the local young ladies. It writes itself!

Tom Skerritt was always a face you were happy to see in something and was so consistently good he was easy to take for granted. He brought a quiet decency to his roles and was especially good as the taciturn father in A River Runs Through It.

RIP Tom Skerritt, a reliable and enduring actor who you probably remember from...everything, basically. www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...

Looking at the timeline this morning and don’t make me tap the sign again.

I 100% endorse this and want to add a related amendment: No more responding to people who are clearly acting in bad faith as if they’re making reasonable claims. I keep seeing people getting bogged down refuting claims that are clearly a pretext. Don’t waste your time, just say Fuck Off instead.

Rewatched the original Friday The 13th for the first time since probably high school, they all kinda blend together in my memory of watching USA Up All Night at sleepovers. Now it seems so modest and quaint. The sex scenes are actually pretty sweet. That ending though, it just keeps going.

Was weird watching it and Halloween or Nightmare On Elm St movies growing up in the 90s where these franchise (and a bunch of others) had gotten cartoonish and were almost parodies of themselves. We knew they were supposed to be important but most of them seemed silly.

I'm not sure how much more blatant it can get that these guys are looting the federal government and then pointing over there and saying "look what THOSE BLACK PEOPLE ARE GETTING AWAY WITH!!!" bsky.app/profile/atru...

Stephen Miller claims Somali-Americans in Minnesota are "buying Mercedes, buying BMWs, they buy a nice house, all their kids fly first class all over the world" (This is a lie!)

The National Review of all places is doing actual journalism to prove Vivek is a liar?! Buddy I don’t know

since California ballots are now out: prop 40 is the billionaire tax, and you should vote yes to stick it to them but both props 41 and 42 are designed to retroactively cancel the billionaire tax because they’re afraid they can’t beat it at the ballot box yes on 40, no on 41 and 42

Not to get all Pauline Kael, but it seems like 90% of the people I follow on social media are seeing The Devils this weekend. I can only assume it’s going to make $100 million at the box office.

A summer job that was supposed to be menial office stuff but was actually standing in front of a trough of aluminum lipstick tubes and putting them on a conveyor belt of prongs so they could be anodized (made shiny) and it was second shift. Didn’t come back after day 3. Waited tables instead.

John Brown makes me think of the Mark Twain quote about the Reign Of Terror. If you’re upset about violence why would you focus on Brown’s and not “that unspeakably bitter and awful Terror which none of us has been taught to see in its vastness or pity as it deserves?”

Haymarket Books@haymarketbooks.org

John Brown's raid on Harper's Ferry began on October 16, 1859.

One of my favorite days was while visiting a friend in Chicago three of us drove up to Milwaukee, got curds at the Mars Cheese Castle, ate lunch at a bar inside a house, toured the Miller brewery then caught a Brewers game. If the Dodgers had to lose, at least it was to them.

A SHADOW STAINED WITH BLOOD (Massimo Cazzioni, 1976) In the midst of a viral outbreak, a deranged killer disrupts the orgiastic “pandemic party” at an Italian media tycoon’s isolated Mediterranean villa. Bernardino Zapponi’s script was adapted from Poe’s ‘Masque of Red Death.’

11 year old me would be very excited about this news. My favorite book for a few years there. Much later my dad and I took a fishing trip up in northern Saskatchewan. We had to take a float plane to the camp, while I didn’t have a hatchet you best believe I had hold of my Leatherman the whole time.

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

Had an early birthday dinner for the youngest and just finished an incredible meal at Lasita. Best Filipino restaurant we’ve been to in LA. Great food, great service. Kids loved the chicken inasal, but the pancit with lechon might have been my favorite. Gonna remember this one for a while.

I love taking the train between San Diego and Los Angeles since it's such a gorgeous view but there's just no way it'll still exist on the same track a generation from now. www.instagram.com/reels/DeSCAh...
