The Purgatorial Man / Michael J Andrews

When i hear this #GreenDay song, it stirs up a a lot. It both weakens and strengthens me. My legs shake, tears rise and i lean for support. There were times I wanted everything to end. But i am #StillHere. I am #StillBreathing. And will go on #living. 💪🙏 music.apple.com/de/album/sti...

I saw #BlazeBayley with his band in Mannheim last night. I went because i wanted to hear #IronMaiden songs. Many Blaze era #Maiden songs are phenomenal, but are ignored. Hearing him sing them in a little club was such a treat. Blaze is a class guy and an amazing perfromer. 🤘

My #MJ / #J5 #vinyl collection is expanding. I had his #Bad & #Dangerous on tape back in the day, but nothing beats #Michael during his #Motown days for me. His voice is so soulful. Got new pressing of #Thriller coming in the autumn, too! ☺️

I am pleased to finally be able to share the newest episode of my #ClassicLiterature #Podcast. The last months have been exhausting, but with some calm I was finally able to get it done. Here is my reading of #TSEliiot 's classic #poem, #TheWasteLand. #Spotify: open.spotify.com/episode/1K7j...

Today marks 500 days. #sober

#IronMaiden ‚s golden age was undoubtedly the 80s. They recoded so many #iconic, #timeless songs. So many that the recent ones often get overlooked. This #vinyl collection is gorgeou. 23 songs from #90s and #00s across 3 x picture LPs. That inner #AlbumArt, too! So cool. 😎 🤘 #Metal

Ooooh, never seen this before. I guess parts were in "Live, Tonight, Sold out"? A #Nirvana #live #concert from 1991 on @artede.bsky.social site and #Youtube They were labelled #grunge, but they're a #punk band through and through. www.arte.tv/de/videos/12...

I think it needs acknowledging that #IronMaiden ‘s #PieceOfMind is likely their best album. Not a single weak track, and tracks 1-5 alone would be strong enough to carry their legacy. They are the greatest succession of songs on any rock album ever.

I'm thinking about doing spontaneous, off-the-cuff readings, selfie style. When I consider stuff for the #podcast, I ask if it is long enough for a whole #episode. I rehearse and edit a package. Maybe just me, my phone, & some words will be fun in the in-between. #NoEdit, just me, raw & wrinkled.

I don't think of myself as an #actor. I just love #literature, #books, and the lyrical quality of so many #classic works. That's why I love doing the #Podcast. As I checked the new episode, though, I didn't recognise myself in that voice. I knew it was me, yet felt it not. Very strange feeling.

450 days #sober! 💪

Really excited for seeing #Michael tomorrow. I have no interest in what #naysayers and #critics have to say. I’ll make my own mind up. But I love #MJ and I’m sure it will be respectful of him and his artistry.

Now I have had time for a little #break since I released my last #ClassicLiterature reading #podcast #episode, with part 1 of a beautiful #HGWells #ShortStory, the concluding 2nd part is really coming together well. Feeling the flow is coming easier for the latter half.

If you’re on Facebook, come and join me! I don’t have many followers for this page yet, but I’d love to expand my reach. www.facebook.com/share/18ca6r...

The Purgatorial Man Podcast Episode 3 now released! Part 1 of H. G. Wells' classic short story, "The Door in the Wall", is now available on all platforms. I am so excited to finally be able to release it to you all. The first part of my two-part reading of H. G. Wells classic short story, "The…

@greenday.bsky.social are one of my all time favourite bands. Them, their brand of #punk laid a foundation for the man I would become. Billie Joe is a fantastic & versatile songwriter, & this selection of #Funk covers shows that his words transcend #genre. 🕺 youtu.be/eihVbptF-Zw?...

The #NewEpisode of #ThePurgatorialMan #literature #podcast is well on the way! I have #recorded the narration and been working through the #edit. This week‘s story turned out to be a lot longer than I had estimated, but it should be ready in the next couple of days! #HGWells

This album, and particularly this song is so perfectly mixes #MJ ‘s #Motown credentials with his brothers and solo, but also highlights why #Michael became the superstar of #TheJacksons he did. He would have only been 16 when recording this. 🤯 music.apple.com/de/album/jus...

I always wanted the #approval of a #literary magazine editor before #publishing my work. While many #self-publish, I didn't want it. I felt if it was #GoodEnough, someone will want it. When no-one did, I supposed it *wasn't* good enough. Now, I am preparing a #ShortStory to put out as a short #ebook

For those of you on #Spotify, here is link to the newest episode of my #classic #literature #reading #podcast. The characters, drama and intrigue made this #creepy #English #GhostStory fun to read. I hope you enjoy it! #listen #rate #subscribe and please #share! open.spotify.com/episode/0s0b...

Here is the direct #ApplePodcasts link to the newst episode of my #literature #reading #podcast. This #classic #English #GhostStory was fun to read, with the character interactions, drama and intrigue. I hope you enjoy it! #listen #rate #subscribe podcasts.apple.com/de/podcast/l...

Oh my, it's finally happened! Sorry it took so long, but I hope to find a better rhythm in the future. Here is my new #podcast #episde, my reading of "Lost Hearts", by master of the #literary #English #GhostStory, #MRJames. I hope you enjoy it! Listen, like, subscribe! rss.com/podcasts/the...

#Hallelujah! I am finally in the process of recording and editing episode 2 of #ThePurgatorialMan #literature #reading #podcast! Very happy with the way things are going so far. I know I set the bar high before (with the literature, not my reading!) but I hope you will enjoy what I'm preparing now!

14 months #sober!

I was so happy to have managed to launch the #podcast. In my #burnout recovery, it was so satisfying. Now I’m #BackToWork; finding the time to be quiet, time rehearse, time to record, and just the time to organize is so lacking. #busylife #adhd

It seems like a #joke when you hear The Amazing Spider-Man was directed my a Marc Webb. Reminds me of those jokes that use wordplay for fake book titles with hilariously appropriate authors. #film #marvel #spiderman

I opted for shorts today when leaving home. Just realized it was a mistake, but I’m committed. Curse spring instability. #cold #weather #spring

40+ years on, #TheTrooper is still one of the greatest #hardrock songs ever written. Timeless, powerful, perfect. #IronMaiden #80s #metal #british #UpTheIrons

Had both #insomniac & #dookie in the last 30-odd years. Still remember when I bought Insomniac on tape from Woolworths. I always preferred its darker, grittier, serious tone, even at 14. It’s @greenday.bsky.social ‘s underrated #punk masterpiece! Time to #PlayItLoud, this time on #vinyl.

@greenday.bsky.social ‘s trilogy didn’t get that much love, certainly not as much as #AmericanIdiot or #Dookie. ¡Uno! Was always my favourite. It felt #old-school Lookout. Didn’t take to ¡Dos!, but listening now. This song‘s, not trad Green Day, but loving the vibe! #punk youtu.be/OYffV1F57QU?...

I just watched #AFriendOfDorothy on #Disney+. It was such a beautiful film. I genuinely teared up at more than one moment. Such a wondferful story of #friendship, #love, and #dreams. #film #short #LGBTQ

I started watching Urban Legend on #Netflix. I know I saw it years ago, but my prejudice bundled it with the late 90s trashy teen horrors that came after #Scream. It's got such a great cast! Robert Englund, Jared Leto, Alicia Witt. I'm kind of sad I ignored it for so long. #90s #horror #film

I’m excited about the future of #ThePurgatorialMan #ClassicLiterature #Reading I’ve got some I’ve got in mind to lead the series forward. What are your favourite pieces you’d like to hear me read? Would love to hear ideas. Suggest away!

While only minor, is indeed an irritation that when I want to listen some kick-ass #BadReligion #PunkRock, I must now type more, as #BadBunny is now my fist suggestion for “bad” in #AppleMusic… no shade to Bad Bunny, but it ain’t Bad Religion! 🤘

Some days just getting out of bed is a victory If you’re facing things that scare you or pushing through anxiety, that takes real strength 💪🏻 Be proud of every small step you take today - you’re trying, you’re holding on, and that matters 💛 #mentalhealth
