Yes and also this sort of 'uniparty' nonsense feels so hollow deployed in the midst of a national stove-touching. It turns out the difference between a 'milquetoast corporate Democrat' and Trump was really big! President Harris would not be driving trans soldiers out of the military!

neuse river hag@neuseriverhag.bsky.social

youtubers, streamers, podcasters, etc are always on this beat bc they don't know how anything works & know that if they say something like this, their audiences will lap it up now & also 3 years later when they point to total gay commie revolution not happening and go "see? i was right!"

I made it a merch design, I have no idea if anyone wanted it on merch but I made it anyways because I do

“Let him die”: the repeated phrase of the Sages when brought the case of a man who has become sick with passion for a woman. For me, the story holds important wisdom about whose problem it is when a man desires a certain woman — and it’s not the woman 🙂 (Sanhedrin 75a)

I’ve had to deal with incredibly immaterial amounts of suffering in my life. It very much DID NOT bring out the best in me. I’m a little bitch asshole when I suffer.

Opinionated Terran@opinionated-terran.bsky.social

One of the mental habits Christians usually never break is the inherent assumption that suffering brings out the best in humanity, even if the sentiment is dressed up in fancy language Suffering does not make people or society better, full stop. We seek silver linings as an evolutionary trait

do not make fat jokes. yes, even if they're about the worst fat guy in the world who bullies other fat people. it only re-normalizea and entrenches popular use of those jokes against *all* fat people. it really is that simple. and it's really not that hard

Multiple things are true here. This is a fascist, authoritarian administration. It has not yet fully consolidated power. Some of its efforts to do so have been frustrated. Trump is a doddering, confused egomaniac who started an unpopular war that's costing everyday people a lot of money.

Thread. And remember: No matter what happens, we're going to have a TON of work to do AFTER midterms, so think about the questions here in the context of building a long-term practice, ya?

I posted this last week without comment, but I'm going to comment now. The people who established the system of museums in the West had a very specific reason for doing so: they thought that having an appreciation for the wonders of the world was absolutely necessary for being a good citizen.

While the Republican Party claims to be the "anti-antisemitism" party when it allows them to attack student protestors and Hasan Piker, we don't talk enough about how their campaign is being funded by a guy who quite literally believes Jews have different DNA. religiondispatches.org/2026/10/06/e...

Trump’s superpower has always been that he radiates an anti-gravitas field, such that anything he touches becomes seen as fundamentally unserious. This has allowed Trump to pursue wars, tyranny, and corruption of immense gravity, while everyone tries to avoid looking like they care too much.

Yes! There’s 15 minutes left to talk to the final two after the votes, bring back the pre-jury, announce the winner and announce AFP! If they had to stretch out the last week, show the roundtable and HoH pt 1 & 2 on Sunday and leave tonight for the rest. #BB28

Matt@trueprinceofpro.bsky.social

It angers me that we always fucking rush the finale & Julie constantly cuts off the Final 2 while their pitching their arguments on why they should win! It makes no sense why the Big Brother finale is always handled in the worst way possible lol #BB28

If those who benefited from the status quo had been willing to listen instead of sabotaging the #MeToo movement, we’d be in a very different place right now. Same story w/ BLM and so much more. But it’s not too late to rise in collective solidarity now to create a more possible world for everyone.

I’m a little late to the party, but this was a great episode. Comparisons to Russian dictators and they took my question!

Trump is raging at news orgs for refusing to cover his reception of Xi after he banned three from the White House. The real lesson here: When institutions join together to resist his abuses of power it actually works, sending him into a helpless fury. New from me: newrepublic.com/article/2158...

The idea that it’s fair and safe for a 15-year-old Victor Wembanyama to play in the paint against a 117-pound 14-year-old but it isn’t fair for a trans kid the same age whose puberty is delayed by hormone blockers to get on the court and clank free throws is the most profound and disgusting cruelty.

I’m not in the position right now, but if someone wants to buy me Poseidon’s Breath, I wouldn’t complain.

These are my latest one-of-a-kind raku pieces. No one’s buying right now, and I understand - art isn’t always the priority in difficult times. But I’m still making, and sharing a little beauty feels worthwhile. A like or share might help these pieces find their people. 🙏
