I guess I never posted this. This was a colored sketch I made as a base for promo art used for Midas Merge's second garden release. It was basically a triptych. I handed it off to other artists on our team who went and made it clean and prettier for the app stores. #art

More work stuff! Midas Merge's Halloween Garden event is live. Here are concepts for a promo image (the final, made beautifully by my colleague Christine Macternen) can be seen in-game. I did a rough color thumb, and a clean up with color blocks. Including some additional concepts for the garden.

I think Nick's right, and there's value in seeing all these amazing looking games... but! I agree that game art direction has gotten worse. Because all the limits are essentially gone these days, there are very few technical hurdles forcing people to make good art decisions.
