"There’s nothing in the Constitution that makes the Supreme Court the sovereign monarch of everyone and everything in America. We’ve just grown to tolerate it because, so far, it hasn’t been abjectly abused. Those days are (tragically) over."

So now the next step is to find out what Capital One's months-long anti-money laundering review by professionals with decades of law enforcement experience discovered about Trump's 300+ accounts...
Phang: "Capital One said, 'We don't want the business anymore of the 45th president of the United States, his businesses, his failed sons, and his revocable trust.' So you can imagine -- I am just hypothesizing... but it suggests whatever Capital One uncovered was pretty bad. Makes you wonder..."

To pretend there is any moral equivalence between the parties when it comes to handling moral depravity is to become an apologist for the party that has eschewed every standard of decency in favor of ruthless pursuit of power and cultist loyalty to a depraved narcissist

@pkrugman.bsky.social is right Iran taught foreign governments not to fear American might; China, along with the crypto industry, has taught rogue countries that they needn’t fear American financial control; and Ukraine has taught foreign governments that they don’t need American support

Do you have any idea how much money is being spent *right now* on smearing Talarico as trans, as unmasculine, as an alien figure who is not one of "us" Texans? For him to be doing better on character and values than Paxton is amazing. Just ask Texas whisperer @amandamarcotte.bsky.social
This is really something: Majorities of Texas voters say Talarico has good character and the right moral values. Paxton is underwater on both of those. I argue here that Talarico is flipping some of the usual scripts on masculinity and Christian faith: newrepublic.com/article/2125...
Can't recommend the article enough. It gives significant detail on the hubris of the Robert's Court. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
The description of the abject partisan hackery is worth the read, although there should be more derision cast upon the Fereralist society. When I was in law school, 30+ years ago, Federalists claimed it was all originalism. In practice, their analysis turned out to be pop-history rationalizations.

It can't be pointed out enough that every study or commission looking to uncover voter fraud has basically found it to be almost non-existent. So why are Republicans passing laws to cure nothing, because the real point is voter supression.
