I love the patterns of new behavior on Bsky. A few weeks ago, it was the Brazilians flooding in, and my timelines were filled with Portuguese posts despite my language settings. Now my timelines are filled with photos and artwork from all the latest Birdsite refugees. Welcome, creative people!

We've got more than enough stuff going on to feel anxious and/or depressed about. How's about we knock off the whole "That movie/game/TV show you liked is now X number of years old" bullshit. I know I'm old and so is the stuff I liked years ago. I don't need reminding.

So why is it that even though I have my account Language settings to display only posts written in English, I'm still seeing all these Portuguese posts? I know Brazil just joined Bluesky in massive numbers, maybe that's overwhelming the algorithm or whatever. But it's a bit annoying.
