It’s pretty funny to be called “elite” for supporting trans people by a cigar-smoking, champagne-swilling, yacht-owning billionaire, but hey, why shouldn’t we all bow to the opinion of someone not trans, not queer, not a doctor, not a scientist, but who’s really really rich?

maybe y'all should listen to us when we tell you what motivates politicians to say transphobic shit and what it means for us instead of throwing tantrums about how unfair it is that we get to be the arbiters of transphobia

"Gov Gavin Newsom over the weekend vetoed legislation aimed at protecting providers of gender-affirming care from being extradited to face charges for doing so by another state." He was "worried about constraints on the governor's power to approve extraditions". www.ebar.com/story/170505...

You can’t have it both ways. You can’t be “It’s simple math, vote blue no matter who, grow up” and ALSO believe you are fighting fascism by making calculations as to who’s expendable. The world we’re in now demands more from us. More from everyone.

"If trans people want a boycott of The New York Times, where's the call to do so?" Here is a declaration laying out how the NYT is a key driver of trans genocide, why boycotts work and why anyone who gives a damn about trans lives and rights must boycott The New York Times.

transnews.networkBoycott The New York TimesFor years The New York Times has relentlessly pushed anti-trans propaganda, playing a significant role in the escalating genocide against us. It's far past time for a call to action: anyone who cares ...

One nice thing about supporting good independent journalism is the doses of sanity. Mainstream journalism likes to portray things as subjective or unknowable to eschew responsibility. Reading plainly stated facts helps ground me against an apparatus that blurs the line between truth and opinion.

Evan Urquhart@evanurquhart.bsky.social

I noticed that every single writer who joined the self-righteous destruction of Jason Arday was also anti-trans, and I think I'm going to write about that for my newsletter this week. If you want to read that, or just want to support independent trans journalism, become a member of Assigned Media!

Like, it's just so nice to read something and be like, "oh right, these questions do, in fact, have answers, and I'm not out of line for thinking answers exist and can be discovered and communicated." Too much unmitigated mainstream journalism really starts to wear on your sense of reality.

And like, I know I made a joke, but fuck do I mean it sincerely. Being on social media was really draining me, so I took a few months off. Coming back was really nice cause I follow lots of cool people, and I missed just seeing stuff they were saying and doing, but all the shit happening to us all

Same with gender-affirming care for kids. Good-faith concern would be, "gee we should be making sure kids are appropriately assessed before receiving care and don't end up regretting it," realizing the numbers are tiny, kids are assessed and regret rates are miniscule and then dropping it.

🚨 IT'S ELECTION DAY 🚨 This is it. Today decides everything. Let's make it count: Knock doors, make calls, talk to your friends, and make sure everyone you know in IL-09 makes their voice heard!

It is so hard to be trans right now, y’all. Like, I can’t speak for everyone but I’m white-knuckling it pretty much constantly at this point. I hope cis people are understanding how much is at stake for us in this moment: It’s literally our right to exist as ourselves that is being stripped away.

if you're transitioning does that mean you get a rude tag

Some personal news: I’m transitioning from CEO to a new role as Bluesky’s Chief Innovation Officer! I’m excited to welcome @toni.bsky.team as our interim CEO. More here: bsky.social/about/blog/0...

This is the other thing. If you talk to trans people, regret at not transitioning earlier is almost universal. Meanwhile, no one has been able to produce any evidence of kids being rushed into premature or inappropriate transitions beyond anecdata connected to right wing activism.

Duchess Van Hoof@duchess-van-hoof.bsky.social

Every single trans woman I have talked to express the same regret: Not beginning HRT earlier.

Well now I've gone and done it. AI does have a benefit*: mass creation of dumpster fire codebases that someone will have to pay me to fix someday. *if your only concern is my future job prospects

Millie Meadows, Immortal Doll@milliemeadows.northsky.social

devs already have tools. AI is the worse version of each of those tools. Using it makes your codebase worse. the bright side for me is that my growing expertise in fixing bad AI code might make it easier for me to find employers willing to hire a trans woman next time I need a job.

KOG IS GREENLIT! Since this was shown in the trailer/ad for the artbook it felt safe to share. This was drawn in '24, early dev, the first time it really felt me, Zach, and JBO understood Frankie, Andi, and the show's tone. I still look at this drawing and think, oh yeah. That's #knightsofguinevere.

that finally shows up at your side to try to help. Even if I trust their intentions, I don't know what to do about this root flaw still having a hold on their worldview. If propaganda provides them an off-ramp that lets them keep their sense of moral purity, will they take it and leave me behind?

And usually, they can just excise the thing that might force them to confront it. In my case: me. It's easier for them to assume I'm a freak than it is for them to love me and confront having been wrong about trans people all along. And I think this is the sickness of white people.

Aside from the outright evil ones seeking to do harm, there are the bystanders who, even in the middle of joining resistance against a violent occupation, must first secure the inerrancy of their past by declaring "this is not who we are." And it's really hard to know what to do when someone like

There's this presumption of an inerrant worldview at the foundation of whiteness. If your average white person realizes that they have a moral obligation to act, they justify not having acted before either by: assuming the problem is new, or seeking to excuse their prior ignorance.

But that's the thing, their prior ignorance was a choice. The voices of the oppressed were audible. The history was taught to us (whitewashed though it was). A genuine desire for kindness and justice should have driven them to be a part of fixing things, but it didn't. They don't want to ponder why.

Wishing all the best for Becky today

On my way to the Supreme Court where I'll be proud to support 15-year-old Becky Pepper-Jackson, West Virginia's only transgender athlete, as she opposes the state's effort to ban her from playing as herself. Win or lose, Becky and her family are heroes for standing up for what's right

And trans people: if you need help, remember that you need to ASK for it for people to know you need help. Take up space. You deserve it. Ask for help. You deserve it. Talk to your trans community. We’ll be there for you. You are not alone. Trans love forever.

Congratulations, those of you who decided to platform fringe voices and create a climate of fear and hate out of ignorance because those voices insisted a non-problem was a problem. They're now on an HHS stage trying to ruin children's lives. You will live with the harm you have done forever.

My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.
