A real grower this – 'Punch Card' the recently released debut album by Formal Sppeedwear. Wonderful basslines drive the alt-pop 80s sound. Bits of Talking Heads, Fripp-era Bowie guitars, New FADS – but very much their own unique thing. Looking forward to seeing them live next week ❤️

The new Michael Kiwanuka album Fudge is out today. Waiting to pick up my copy next week, but have given it a first listen and it's an absolute beauty ❤️ xx www.michaelkiwanuka.com

No spoilers, but ep4 of latest series of Blue Lights is just one of the many highlights of what is one of the best TV dramas of the last few years.

Can't recommend the new Agnes Obel album highly enough. It's a unique and remarkable record. The Meaning of Flowers came out on the Deutsche Grammophon label in September. If you're familiar with any of her earlier records, you'll love it ❤️

A holy grail and final word on the music of Joy Division, Eternal shines a welcome light back onto the three musicians and not on the story of their frontman. Essential. My review is over at @joyzineuk.bsky.social joyzine.org/2026/09/25/a... @jd-central.bsky.social

Resharing for the Friday evening crowd

There are many more of course, but this is a decent round-up of 12 of William Orbit's finest, by Alexis Petridis. The Clubfield (Leftfield) remix of Intoxication is an absolute gem. RIP ❤️ www.theguardian.com/music/2026/a...
