Genuinely chuffed for Harry, the first English winner of the Ballon d'Or in 25 years. What a player, and he's battled hard for everything he's achieved. 👏😁 BBC News - Harry Kane: Bayern Munich and England striker wins Ballon d'Or after record season - BBC Sport www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba...

bbc.co.ukHarry Kane: Bayern Munich and England striker wins Ballon d'Or after record seasonHarry Kane becomes the first English player to win the Ballon d'Or since Michael Owen in 2001 after being crowned the world's best player at a ceremony in London.

As well as being a detestable nazi, he's also an utter weasel (no offence to actual weasels) isn't he. I can totally see him trying to throw everyone else under the bus to save his own skin. I hope it's keeping him awake at night, and giving him the mother of all ulcers.

Miller deserves everything that's coming. He's afraid of state prosecutors because a presidential pardon only covers federal offenses; and beyond prison, there's also future congressional investigations and civil lawsuits. www.rawstory.com/rs-exclusive...

I'd love to be able to disagree with Ian but I can't. I'm desperate for the Dems to get a huge victory, and for the decent Americans to have decent people back in charge... but American society is broken and won't be fixed by new leadership. It's so sad, but the USA can't be trusted any more. 😞

Ian Dunt@iandunt.bsky.social

Obviously I want the utmost damage to Trump in the midterms, for Congress to constrain him & for a Democrat president in a couple years time. But honestly something broke in my relationship w America when Trump won the second time. I can't imagine feeling excited for an American president again.

When you look at Trump and Obama, it's even more hilarious and mind-blowing that white supremacy is a "thing". Trump is infinitely inferior to Obama in body, mind, spirit, values, and anything else you'd like to name... and anyone who can't see that is living in a state of delusion.

The relief of the manager of my football club, so comprehensively out of his depth, being sacked is palpable... but the knowledge that we have an owner leeching off the club & a bunch of players with an utterly shocking & unprofessional attitude remains. I don't recognise my club right now #Burnley

This is a great cause for the local area, you're a bobbydazzler Reece! If anyone out there could show this amazing project some support I'd really appreciate it. #SaveSquareChapelArts #Halifax

Unknown hackers claim to have stolen 421,179 emails from Germany's far-right AfD, exposing Nazi greetings, swastikas and threats against a photographer. The party confirms a breach, but the explosive allegations are still largely unverified. If proven this could be grounds to ban the AfD.

I'm always saying this, and nobody ever takes it seriously. Imagine how much better our infrastructure would be if people just paid the amount of tax they are supposed to. I've always been happy to pay my taxes, it's fair and just, but I resent the selfishness of those who avoid paying their due.

That 76% of Republicans approve of Trump says everything. Getting rid of Trump is essential but he's a symptom of the poison, not the cause. The Republican Party is an extremist organisation, and its supporters aren't going anywhere.

Kyle Griffin@kylegriffin1.bsky.social

NBC News poll: 71% of U.S. adults think the country is on the wrong track. For the first time in Trump's second term, 'right track' has sunk into the 20s. Trump's approval is just 76% with Republican adults. His approval is 21% with independents.

Abdul shows again how impressive he is. That answer, in content and tone, was perfect. Good luck to him, and I hope his words and actions motivate other politicians to actively challenge the bigotry, intolerance, and idiocy that's now inherent in society, and those who peddle it.

This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

I see it's #NoKings Day in the USA today. Is it the fourth one? Ok I'm going to say it. I really hope that everyone who can possibly get out there and protest does so, it's such an important message to send... but four single days of protest in response to what's going on is not enough. Sorry. 😞

Great question. There have been many excellent questions asked by journalists from many countries towards members of the US administration. Is it too much to ask that American media start asking some too, rather than waiting for others to do it when the admin members are abroad? 🤔😏

We respect decent and inspirational politicians, Obama could sell out any arena in Britain. The respect we have for Obama is diametrically opposite to the contempt pretty much everyone has here for Trump. Obama is everything Trump could never be, and it boils Trump's piss every single day.

⚡️ President Zelenskyy had an audience with King Charles III, thanking him for the UK’s continued and firm support.

The kind of men who are tired of seeing "I am Jane Doe" posts are, at a minimum, lacking any kind of empathy or respect... and in many cases it will be even worse than that.

This post is unavailable.

Time for Zelenskyy to take his gloves off and say the blatant truth that must be said in the bluntest way possible, that Trump is a Russian asset. And then the international community apart from rogue states (Russia, North Korea, USA) needs to express unequivocal support for Zelenskyy and Ukraine.

Trump's head is so far up Putin's ass he can see Sarah Palin's front porch.

20 months on and nothing changes eh, except the importance of standing by him and Ukraine! #IStandWithZelenskyy

Martin@mkt1882.bsky.social

#IStandWithZelenskyy We all do, right? It's a genuine example of good vs evil.

I hope Americans realise what a statement, an acknowledgement... almost a mea culpa this is. Johnson has bent over backwards to support Trump and the Republican Party so much over the last few years, to the huge detriment to the UK and in the face of all logic. For him to say this now says it all!

Anonymous@youranoncentral.bsky.social

Former UK Prime Minster Boris Johnson on traitor Trump buying Russian oil: "The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives. And yet the White House is apparently determined to force American drivers to bankroll Putin’s slaughter."

... and a mea culpa from Boris Johnson is almost unthinkable, it's just not in his wheelhouse. This is a seismic statement.

Young teenagers are less likely to identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual than a few years ago, according to a new analysis. “It really does look like a free fall,” Jean Twenge, a professor of psychology, said. “But what’s causing it is unclear.”

Released on bail? It was already intriguing but there's no way they'd be released on bail if they were a credible terrorist threat...so what's the story? 🤔

Five British men were released on bail after officials arrested them on explosives and terror charges near a U.S.-operated air force base in England. Counterterror detectives said they were investigating “multiple lines of inquiry,” including whether there is a link to Iran, which Iran has denied.
