Rubio’s speech in Munich was a watered down version of Vance’s fascist tirade last year. In 2028, assuming we’re still having elections, Marco will try to pretend he wasn’t even in Munich, and he was in the bathroom the whole time Republicans tried to dismantle our democracy.

The sadly ironic death of Charlie Kirk: the untimely death of a human being pulls at our heartstrings, even as he was a victim of the same violence he so cavalierly dismissed. We should be better than this, and we start by rejecting Kirk’s view that any deaths are a fair trade for 2A rights.

Mike Johnson is lying, but let’s pretend he’s not. The only way the Bureau would use a pathological liar like Trump as an informant is if he was a co-conspirator and would record conversations with Epstein and other targets. So, let’s hear the tapes!

When the world seems to be falling apart, you may feel you can’t afford to take time away from the important work of trying to help hold it together. But it’s a marathon, not a sprint, so take a walk—or a swim—in nature; it will help fortify you for the long fight!

It’s clear the leadership and rank-and-file at ICE have disregarded their oath to the Constitution; ICE will have to be dismantled when democracy is restored.

While Trump was on his Bribe-Me tour of the Middle East autocracies, his henchmen continued to undermine our democracy; in particular, Stephen “Discount Goebbels” Miller floated the idea of suspending habeas corpus. We must fight his corruption and authoritarianism—everywhere, all the time.

Trump has always been a breathtakingly ignorant man, a conman & a criminal, and as president an aspiring autocrat & tyrant; summed up in his short answer to Welker’s simple question: Welker: “But…don’t you need to uphold the Constitution of the United States as president?” Trump: “I don’t know.”

Our critical failure to hold bad actors accountable made the current crisis possible: whether it was the Trail of Tears, the Civil War, Nixon, or rendition and torture under W, we’ve turned a blind eye once the perpetrators were no longer in power. When the current regime falls, we must do better.

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive. No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief. 1/ A 🧵 to explain his plan and how we fight back.

So, Trump has started a trade war and is destroying the world’s economy because he wants someone to talk to.🤦🏻‍♂️ “If I didn’t do what I did over the last couple of weeks, you wouldn’t have anyone who wants to negotiate,” Trump said. “Now they’re coming to us.”

Truly impressive that in only a matter of weeks, every one of these unqualified, dangerous, lying idiots proved every criticism of them to be completely accurate. The only one happy about this is RFK, Jr., who’s thinking, “I’m an anti-science conspiracy theorist, but these clowns are really morons!”

In dark times, it’s important to find joy and happiness where you can. There is beauty and light in art, nature, and community that Trump and his fascists cannot sully; it can sustain you and they fear it.

In January 1941, President Franklin Roosevelt answered the "America First" of his day - and foresaw the "America First" of ours: "We must especially beware of that small group of selfish men who would clip the wings of the American eagle in order to feather their own nests."

Way to go Kash Patel: on your first day on the job, nothing says, “I’m an unserious clown who should be ignored” then suggesting MMA entertainment fighting could enhance the FBI’s training. It’s real life out there, and you can’t win on points in a real fight.

Kash Patel, a terrible human being, today was given more power than any conspiracy theorist and fascist toady should ever have. It was a bad day for democracy and the rule of law.

In 1939, two dictators—Hitler & Stalin—agreed to carve up Eastern Europe in the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact under the guise of a peace treaty. Today, two dictators—Trump & Putin—are starting “peace talks” about Ukraine. One wonders how the Rubio-Lavrov Pact will carve up Eastern Europe this time?

Headline from @nytimes.com: “Layoffs Expand at Federal Agencies, Part of Trump Purge” Is this Times really starting to get it? Or is it broken clock day in the newsroom? Hoping they’re getting it, as we need everyone—including legacy media—on the side of democracy (but not holding my breath…).

Google is now preventing searches for “Gulf of America” in Maps; and if you search for “Gulf of Mexico,” it shows you the misnamed “Gulf of America.”

The USSR and the Nazis assigned party members throughout government to ensure loyalty. Trump’s EO details Musk’s minions to every agency, nominally to oversee hiring decisions. How long before that officially expands to ensure loyalty to the dictator? Orwell warned us, but too many didn’t listen.

Former FBI Director Wray, a coward, abandoned his post and betrayed his oath when he obeyed in advance and resigned before Trump took office. Contrast with Acting Director Driscoll, who said, “No,” to Trump’s attempt to purge J6 Agents. Some still believe Fidelity, Bravery, & Integrity matter.

nbcnews.comSenior FBI official forcefully resisted Trump administration firingsBrian Driscoll, the acting FBI director and head of the bureau's Newark field office, pushed back so aggressively that some feared he would be dismissed.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent. Opportunities are everywhere. Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

Watchdogs charged with investigating admin/criminal wrongdoing in the agencies, the IGs are a check against the kind of corruption, self-dealing, and lawlessness that have been the hallmarks of Trump’s time in office and his entire life; he will replace them with toadies who will turn a blind eye.
