MM Anderson - Artist

I've just finished my latest soft pastel work 'Swan on the Water at Sunset' and it will soon be available on prints and cards at the links in my profile. The water was a bit challenging. I think I need more practice with doing ripples. #PastelArt #BirdArt #art

When you stand near a horse their powerful coherent heart field can literally influence your heart rate, blood pressure and mood Horses are nature's antidepressants If you can't hug a horse today, I hope this painting will lift your spirits and raise your vibration 💕🐴 #artofbluesky #horsetherapy

Will try harder again. Twilight alignment. Telephoto framing positions a detailed full moon suspended in a cool blue sky, anchored by thin wispy clouds and the sharp, dark silhouette of a tree-lined ridge along the bottom. Minimalist natural balance. #luiscordobapharchive #scape #moon #eastcoastkin

Took a drive up on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina yesterday. I'm not much of a photographer but here are a few shots. I may see if I can make these look good enough to upload to my print site one of these days. #BlueRidgeParkway #Autumn

I love how the blue scales turned out on this one! I made this piece as a gift, using a pastel base and then detailed with colored pencils. I'm pleased to say that it was much loved!😊 #art #traditionalart #fantasy #fantasyart #dragonart #pastelart #coloredpencilart #dragon #blueskyart

Here's a rough sketch for a new swan piece I'm planning to work on this weekend. I love the grace of a swan on the water and have done several pastels featuring them. See the links in my profile for where to find my work available for purchase on prints and cards. #drawing #BirdArt

Since I haven't done any new art this past week, I thought I would share an older drawing that has a bit of a spooky vibe for the upcoming Halloween holiday. I called this 'The Ravens of Odin' and it is available as a print and also on cards at the links in my profile. #BirdArt #drawing #art

Emerging from the fire and smoke of raku - Borealis Bear 🐻 Deep browns, violet, blue and gold shimmer across a surface transformed by the magic of raku. Your reminder that strength can be quiet, grounded, and beautifully shaped by the elements. #bear #eastcoastkin

Flamingos are not pink. They are born with grey feathers, which gradually turn pink in the wild because of a dye called canthaxanthin obtained from their diet of brine shrimp and blue-green algae. This is a baby flamingo. Original post

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #BestBeaks with the alternative theme #YellowElements Taken last year. Swans have wonderful beaks 🧡

I thought I'd repost this one with autumn coming in. This was actually the first piece I used pan pastels on and it really helped with the soft background.I'm still fond of the feeling this one gives me! The original is up for sale on Ebay. Link in the comments 😁 #art #birdart 🐡 #nature #wildlife

Just finished this soft pastel artwork of a pair of pretty purple striped crocus flowers. I'm planning to use it in spring greeting card designs. Prints & cards featuring this floral piece will be available shortly at the links in my profile. #PastelArt #flowers #art

Evening sketch of a Chinstrap Penguin. These little guys are so cute to me 🥰

'Three Leaf Clover on Blue and Green' is my latest finished soft pastel work. I am planning to do St. Patrick's Day cards with it. The touches of red at the leaf centers and margins create a nice contrast with the cool tones in most of the image. #PastelArt #BotanicalArt #art

With my art, I often plan in advance, but this one ended up being spontaneous. I started with the large tree, then thought, a subject would enhance the piece, and it continued from there! The original is up for sale on Ebay! Link in the comments. #art #fantasyart #traditionalart #natureart #deer
