What an amazing game that was! Though, after all that, for it to end on a questionable check swing call is kinda disappointing, not gonna lie. #WorldSeries

Was rooting for the White Sox. Bummer. Was an amazing run, making the playoffs after 3 straight 100-loss seasons. But to be so close to the LCS…..dang.

Ok, regardless of how you feel about the death penalty (and I’m opposed to it), that’s actually incredibly ghoulish and horrifying.

Breaking news: The firing squad execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan will be live-streamed, the Defense Department said. “People need to understand that there’s serious consequences for these types of things,” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said.

Until it is literally Nov. 3, I remain unconvinced Election Day will actually happen.

Trump shouts out Russ Vought and then says, ominously, "we have some big surprises coming up in a few weeks, right Russ? He's gonna be one of the important people in the history of our country."

I’m not one of those Swifties who say you have to like every one of her songs — or any of them. Different strokes for different folks. But this is one of the stupidest takes I’ve ever seen.

I know there haven’t been a lot of highlights this year. But one of them, definitely, has been watching Bo Bichette’s defense improve in real time. He now looks like he’s been playing there for years. #Mets

Really wish @mets.com were as good about updating their BlueSky as they are their Twitter/X. There’s some stuff I’d like to share with people who have wisely abandoned that cesspool of hate, but it’s……just not here yet.

I held it together until Howie began crying at the end. Pulled myself back together, backed up the PIX feed to watch the players come out and salute him, and when they played the Beatles lyric, oh I was GONE. What a send-off. Thanks for the memories, Howie. #Mets #MetsSky

At least it’s over. I love Pete, and am glad he got his 300th in the place he never should’ve left, but ….. yeah, I’m very happy to see this series behind us. #Mets

Ok, after hearing Manaea’s postgame interview, I feel kinda bad for the players. How weird it is to be in your home ballpark and your *own fans* are cheering the opposition — even after they tie the game. It’s not the players’ fault Pete isn’t here anymore. #Mets

A rare wrong move by Andy Green in what’s been a pretty impressive turn as the interim manager. There was no need to go to Lavender to start the ninth after he threw 21 pitches just yesterday and you had a pretty rested Tobias Myers in the pen. #Mets

Really, #Mets? This is how you want to play this? “There’s a cold front coming”? I know the object is to sell tickets, but holy crap. How tone deaf can you be?

Such an incredible asshole.

JD Vance on the 25th anniversary of 9/11: "As you guys can probably guess, I'm really looking forward to hanging out with Joe Biden. I'm sure we'll have many many intense intellectual conversations. We'll have a great time."

Yes, the #Mets lost 2 of 3 to the White Sox. But it came down to the bottom of the ninth in both of those losses, and in our win we were dominant. Considering Chicago is a first-place, playoff-bound team, I’m impressed with how we held our own.

Now that’s a pickle. If you go to the game, you see the ceremony, but you miss the radio call. You stay home ahd listen to the radio call, you miss the ceremony. I’m very glad the #Mets are doing this though. Howie deserves all the celebrations, and more.

Assuming the 1B situation remains the same going into next season, it’s starting to get really tough to justify starting Polanco over Young. I realize Polanco will probably get the nod due to the contract, but……it’ll be tough. #Mets

This is actually really sad. Yes, Noah’s gone full MAGA now, so my sympathy only extends so far, but this is a portrait of a paranoid man who no longer knows who he is, is aware he’s being used, and desperately wants to recapture what he once had. Captivating read. #Mets www.gq.com/story/noah-s...

Trump takes a break from fear-mongering about communism to brag about seizing the means of production: "We had a problem with Intel. And we settled the problem. They gave us 10% of the company. That was worth $12 billion."

Burritos are the new avocado toast. Avocado toast was the new lattes. Anything at all to shift the blame from their own terrible policies.

For three days, conservatives have been sparring online over how much a tortilla-wrapped bundle of meat, cheese, rice, beans, salsa and guacamole (if you’re fancy) should cost in a restaurant — and whether you should be going out to get them at all.

Oh yeah, this is all fine. Totally fine.

I thought about going to the game today but I’m actually really glad I stayed home and watched it on TV. This broadcast had it all: great in-game interviews with players, the set started falling down, Ray Knight dropped an F-bomb, and I’m pretty sure Murph belched out loud on the air. #Mets

I knew he’d never admit to being wrong. That was the weirdest part about all this. I’m guessing Judge Jeanine might be headed back to Fox News soon.

Trump: “I disagree 100% with Jeanine Pirro on the Reflecting Pool. I don’t know what she was thinking? To me, it was a pure case of VANDALISM, that included the grass, which had a big 86 47 emblazoned …There may have been some contractor difficulty, but major damage was caused by VANDALS!”
