Trump takes a break from fear-mongering about communism to brag about seizing the means of production: "We had a problem with Intel. And we settled the problem. They gave us 10% of the company. That was worth $12 billion."

If you think about it, money is ALL that Trump cares about. His kids are just like him too. The end of his presidency will hopefully remove him from the public scene except for his legal woes which will dominate the airwaves and will delight me to no end.

Who is “us”? The U.S. government is not a for profit entity. They are the sole currency issuer of the USD. What would one do with the profits?🤷‍♂️

So the president is a communist because Intel caved 10%? So what about Venezuela? How much does he have to "appropriate" to be considered a real communist? Do womens' right get included in that take? Trying to mske sense of things..oops, my bad.

"When the state takes over private property and industries, the specific action is called nationalization. When evaluated as a broader economic or political system, placing the means of production under government control is known as state socialism or a command economy" Just saying.

Only idiots that are in MAGA could fall for this irony. Trump derides communism to then follow up with <checks notes> how the government has a stake in a private company.

So when he says “they gave us 10%of the company” who is the “us” he is referring to, the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA or himself? Just wondering, because I believe the money that came in from Intel should be used for the benefit of the taxpayers not “himself”.

Of course, as Dictator he owns the country and everything in it. The deal was Intel was just a contracting agreement to establish how he is going to be collect.

and communism when they want to take over corperations who were working just fine on their own until donald trump moved on them like Uday Hussein on the bride of Any wedding he was driving past

Uh hey Mike Johnson. About that ‘communism’ thing you’ve been warning against. You know, the system where the government owns the means of production?

The gov't spent $8.9 bn on stock with no board representative (eg: passive stocks). The money came from unspent CHIPS grants that could have gone to schools and universities. And the $12 bn evaluation is worthless if the gov't never sells the stock. 🤡🙄

It’s always projection. Democratic socialism is not communism. But seizing a share of a company to now be owned by the govt IS communism. Every insult they hurl at Dems is what they’re doing themselves.

Something I fear doesn’t get enough focus when this comes up, is investment in Intel was partly intended as a national security measure. Make US tech, even consumer tech, less dependent on foreign chips. How many years of Intel R&D is now compromised by Russia or the highest bidders under Trump?

Interesting how Drumpf calls the "left" commies while he takes authoritarian communistic actions. Communism is a system where property, factories, and resources are owned by the public (govt) US Steel, Intel, IBM, MP Materials...are now owned partly by the U.S.
