Agreed

I was thinking about this the other day, especially in the middle of the Minnesota winter: every unhoused person who dies from exposure in this cold does so as the result of a policy decision.

Release the Epstein files, stop protecting pedophiles🛑 3 million Epstein files hidden because the guilty wear suits! Your silence isn’t neutrality it’s complicity. Release the files or own the filth you’re hiding! Tell us which powerful assholes you’re shielding. #SheShed #DefendersofDemocracy

In 2026 I want all of the decent people to remember one thing. You aren’t meant to be this disciplined, this self-sacrificing to survive. The environment is supposed to support good living. We can have that. You are not a failure. That is politics. That is all.

They don’t “believe” in my right to appropriate healthcare, I don’t believe in their right to be willfully ignorant at women’s expense. But here we are.

Because it’s not just Bari Weiss’ CBS asking this question—in the last few months, I’ve been approached by half a dozen different shows looking to ‘debate’ the same topic. I even got a request from NPR-distributed “Open to Debate” to see if I’d weigh in on “Has Feminism Hurt Women?” NPR!

We all deserve so much better than this. Every Republican on the 2026 ballot is Trump. Vote accordingly. #RobReiner #ReleaseTheTrumpEpsteinFiles #TrumpInflationCrisis #TrumpAffordabilityCrisis #RepublicanHealthCareFailure #SaveHealthCareNotPedophiles #StopRepublicanPrimiumHikes

Her name was Melissa Hortman. Yes, she was a Minnesota lawmaker in the Democratic Party. And her name was Melissa Hortman. And she was a real person who did a lot to make life better for a lot of people. And she should have had several more decades to live. So can we please mention her name?

This is correct. I write creative nonfiction. I am informed by writers of creative nonfiction, fiction, poetry, hybrid genres, and yes, scholars. It works so much better this way for us all.

We don’t have to - and must not - place scholarly writing and popular writing in opposition. Doing so is a losing move. Writing exists in many overlapping genres and we get to work in and out of the ones that fit.

Outstanding article written by Sherrod Brown, former US senator from Ohio. Brown has always been and will always be an advocate for those who work, do the hard, dirty, hot, and unappreciated jobs. He has talked about the dignity of work for decades. I know that @connieschultz.bsky.social is proud!🩵💙

21st day of Black History Month quote from Mr Baldwin reminds us of a truth that we humans so often disregard. We dismiss we really are so intertwined. But with the family connection, we also need to remember that siblings have fought since time immortal. Sadly sometimes, it is for our lives. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️💙🩵

20th day of Black History Month quote from Mr Baldwin is one I know I need to remind myself of daily. I can’t think of myself as superior to those who voted for this or stayed at home last Nov. Tis extremely difficult thing to do, given what we see devolving in front of our eyes But very necessary

One thing I find interesting about the echo chamber complaint is that an echo chamber just won a presidential election. Put aside the convo of whether it’s “good” or “bad” for a moment. The far right has devoted enormous resources + time to building echo chambers & loathes spaces they don’t control

The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.

One thing I’m not going to do on this — or any other platform — is engage in a circular firing squad with people who are supposed to be on the same side. To my trolls: talk shit all you want, but, I raised almost $40,000 for Harris and helped register hundreds of voters. How about you?

OK, I’m new here. Just deleted my account… elsewhere… and giving this a try. I am a writer, podcaster, and editor in the Twin Cities Metro. Looking for community and curious about what’s going on. Will add a real profile soon. For today, there’s a photo at least and I’m saying hi.

You are up to date.
