Kansas City people, heads up. Councilman Darrell Curls is introducing a new resolution to reopen Blue River Road & kill the current work being done to make this an official trail like Cliff Drive in the Historic North East. Please email today docs.google.com/document/d/1...

Absolute scenes from Toronto, where a critical mass of lovely human beings on bikes has seen off the trucks sent (by the culture-warring Premier Doug Ford) to rip out the bike lanes... ...while chanting "get home safe" to the workers 🥹 Inspirational, iconic, great work @cycletoronto.bsky.social!

Yep the bike lane is the rational and reasonable place to put a traffic control sign for drivers. @mayorq.bsky.social can we take action against these contractors who fail to consider any other users except for drivers when placing signs? These are a danger & hindrance to everyone not in a car.
I really believe road construction companies with city contracts should not be allowed to bid on new contracts if they are caught blocking crosswalks, sidewalks or bike lanes with signs without permits. The comfort of drivers isn't a reason to block access to vital infrastructure for others!

Hi friends: I haven't written an article in three months. Here's why, and how my experience as a caregiver to a person I love with a disabling, terminal illness upended most of what I think about car dependency and transportation reform.

Car-blindness is real! Psychologists or sociologists should study this. Giant two-ton boxes flying all around us, piloted by people who have been rendered psychopaths, regularly injuring & killing our neighbors, and many/most people just ... don't register it. It's just background noise.
I was talking to my neighbor when a group of cyclists came by at maybe 25 mph. “That’s so dangerous,” she exclaimed. In the meantime, quite a few drivers came by at 40 mph, and she’s completely unfazed. 🤦🏻♂️
In a proposal that should surprise no one, the Royals want to rip out bike lanes and fuck up pedestrian crossings to make sure the fans in cars aren't inconvenienced compasskc.kcmo.org/EnerGov_Prod...
Jim Glover razed a neighborhood to TIF a couple of big box stores. What prevents us from using eminent domain again to put the housing back where it belongs?
We should have replaced existing housing stock with the costco like this in the first place. We took out so much housing to put this suburban big box store smack dab in the middle of our urban fabric.
Almost like they didn't really want to hear the feedback. Room at capacity, door locked, overflow downstairs waiting for the encore session we're being promised
Costco has proposed to convert its midtown location at 241 E. Linwood Blvd. into a business center. Some customers and neighbors have not been happy about it.

Do a big Dad Thing with me: we're buying our own bike lane sweeper to clean the paths the city can't (or won't) bikewalkkc.org/sweeper/ I can't wait to pull this thing around the neighborhood!
It is time once again to discuss the Most Dad Things we have done in the past year. A couple of reminders: - gender is a social construct, anyone can do Dad Things - you need not be a parent to do a Dad Thing - the definition of a Dad Thing is entirely subjective and maybe made up I’ll go first:
