How about that. It turns out I can have more contempt for this fecal golem.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

People love to frame their preferences as moral imperatives. Back on the bad site I expressed a dislike of CGI compared to practical effects and someone told me I was bigoted against queer artists and artists of color. ???

We’ve officially entered post-wokeism. Not utilizing tech billionaires’ earth-killing plagiarism machine is privileged, elitist, and dare I say, maybe even ableist(?) Please adjust your behavior accordingly.

This should fix the cost of living. Descending into increasingly desperate and deranged witch hunts. He's going to be holed up in his bunker before long.

The Ramaswamy ad has pushed the largest newspaper in Ohio, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, to reverse its position on endorsements. "A candidate who uses childhood sexual abuse as a weapon against the person who endured it has crossed a line that Ohioans should defend, whatever their party."

Cheesecake Factory Gate got no traction, so the hunt goes on.

The political media is visibly chafing at the current situation, where Republicans are glaringly awful, fucking everything up, running deviant candidates everyone hates, and Dems are just being normal & winning. The force is out of balance. They are viscerally eager to go after Dems about something.

Just drove my girlfriend to drop off her ballot. Dude hobbling in with a cane and a Vietnam veteran hat lost his mind yelling at the Dem volunteers outside. Big group of tough old ladies that did not give a single shit. The average MAGA freak is just fucking miserable and I’m glad.

Walter had chops. It's a shame he didn't get the chance to do more. He was great as Chekov, of course, for all its occasional campy glory, but he was more than that. He had a nice, long career as a working actor, but I would have liked to see him get more opportunitices to show his range.

My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.

This is the way. Crush the fascists then sort out the rest.

Another interesting thing that happened in Brazil and might be worth considering in the U.S.: a triumph of the liberal field was to detach Bolsonarism from the right. It wasn’t about left or right anymore; it was both left and right, liberals and centrists, fighting against far-right extremism.

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

Our Most Auspicious Leader has ushered in an unprecedented golden age of prosperity for our most powerful nation. Under his glorious and infallible leadership, the economy has reached heights previously unimaginable and every citizen now enjoys boundless wealth and abundance.

All these shitheads do is cheat and work the refs then cry when they lose anyways.

BREAKING Brazil's defeated presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro refuses to recognize President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's victory on Sunday.

You know what would have been a good and timely Star Trek series? One centering on a Trill experiencing its first time in a body of a different gender than its previous host. The exploration of gender and identity could be a series-long arc with ups and downs. That would be interesting!

It would have to be handled with sensitivity, but it would be a lot more Trek than a lot of the stuff they’ve produced lately. The spirit of the show has always been exploration, and this show could be about exploring the self as well as the universe.

Brazil’s results tonight are a big endorsement for the idea that every country should have a second “are you you sure about that” election a couple weeks after the first one for the important stuff

If Lula wins I am immediately booking tickets to go celebrate. Come on, Brazil. I’ll be in Rio Grande do Sul dancing with my girlfriend’s aunt and her wife again. Let’s go.

For the millionth time: the point of youth sports should be for kids to have fun. That’s it. If you really care that much about who wins, your priorities are completely out of whack.

I think the hardest I’ve ever laughed at a tweet was when DJ Khaled said that he didn’t, to use his term, eat pussy. And someone quoted it and said, oh bitch, now you’re a picky eater.

Nihilism is a luxury a lot of people cannot afford. They are forced to make imperfect choices in order to survive. It’s normal to feel it from time to time, but I think we, especially those of us who are relatively insulated, have a responsibility to keep it to ourselves. To process it ourselves.

Dumping our negative emotions onto other people is selfish behavior. The last thing we should want to do is demoralize our allies. We can argue, we can debate, but we should process our despair privately, and then look for ways to help, no matter how small.
