Genuine question for Star Trek and Magic fans, are you excited for the upcoming mtg set? I feel like if I saw a franchise I loved depicted in magic like this I'd be kinda disappointed. I feel like the photorealism looks tacky, but I don't know if that's just bias from not really being into trek.

Hey so… if you can’t be bothered to think maybe you shouldn’t be in office?

* MEXICO HAS FILED CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS WITH STATE PROSECUTORS IN U.S. OVER DEATHS OF CITIZENS IN IMMIGRATION CUSTODY -- STATEMENT * MEXICAN GOVERNMENT HAS ALSO SENT CEASE-AND-DESIST LETTERS TO U.S. DETENTION CENTERS WHERE NATIONALS HAVE DIED -- STATEMENT @reuters.com

@mtgarena.com idk how to suggest something to the arena team but please free Winota and Vivi in Comp Brawl, thanks <3

Today is a momentous day for the workers of Arena! After months of planning, waiting and organizing, our dream is finally a reality; the votes have been counted, and our union of UWOTC-CWA has been officially elected. From this day forward, we have a union!

I don't use AI in my personal or professional writing, and will never, so some dipshit saying that actually everyone uses it is untrue in the same way that saying that nobody washes their hands after using the bathroom is untrue -- a lie to excuse a repulsive personal failing.

@jjjacksfilms.bsky.social lmao, the irony.

I am once again begging @magic.wizards.com and @mtgarena.com to ban paradox engine in Brawl. If you're trying to create a more casual format by banning cards like ancient tomb and chrome mox that's great, but even the format that allows those cards bans paradox engine. It is incredibly obnoxious.

You can’t treat trauma on a sidewalk. You can’t recover in a shelter line. You can’t build stability without a door that locks. If we’re serious about mental health, addiction, and safety then we must be serious about housing.

@mtgarena.com so now that there's no ancient tomb or chrome mox in Brawl, can we finally get rid of paradox engine? Cause I would rather play against someone trying to strip mine loop me tbh

In honour of the recent @drawfeeshow.com stream, I learned how to mod Balatro for the sole purpose of making Jacob the fool. @atnathanyaffe.bsky.social @dilfosaur.bsky.social @jacobandrews.bsky.social @julialepetit.bsky.social

@mark-carney.bsky.social embargo the United States of America for bombing and kidnapping the president of Venezuela. Canada cannot support these actions as US neo-colonialism continues to exploit and destabilise the global South, putting millions of lives at risk in the interest of oil corporations.

Lmao at "dignity" and "United States Military" in the same sentence. Knowing literally anything about the USA's foreign policy at like, any point in history ever, immediately makes it clear they never had any.

Definitely check this out, there's actually a bunch of random bullshit that hides posts. Wish this kinda thing was opt-in, not opt-out. :\

I can only hope that politicians everywhere see that they, like @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social, can run on a platform of people over profit and not only win, but have an electorate that truly supports them instead of being defeatedly resigned to vote for them. Congrats Zohran and congrats New York!

Happy Halloween!

LETS FUCKING GOOOO

Zohran Mamdani caught lying that he understood Plato’s allegory of the cave, yet when asked to explain it, he seemed to instead explain Baudrillard’s theory of Simulacra and Simulation where reality has been replaced by symbols and signs, which seems similar to Plato’s theory but is not the same

TIRED: I can’t go to bed, the game’s still on. WIRED: I can totally go to bed, the game will still be going in eight hours.

@ifycomedy.com awesome seeing you and Rekha playing BotC with NRB!

Can anyone confirm for me how firebending will interact with Ashling, Leyline Tyrant, etc? I'm assuming the "this mana lasts until end of combat" just extends how long the mana would last normally and isn't a hard limit that will interfere with Ashling, but I wanted to check. #mtg

Always: mad love to everyone protesting against corrupt tyranny - but please do ensure, if you haven't already, that you join liberatory groups after the protest. Mobilisation without organisation is a parade. The situation is too dire for us to not push beyond disagreeable placards. Solidarity ✊

@dropout.tv I don't know where else to say this, but I'd love a way to save caption settings. I prefer a dropshadow on the text rather than a background window, and it's mildly inconvenient to re-set it all the time, lol. Love what y'all are doing!

The last ceasefire was broken by Israel hours into the agreement. The current "peace" plan *may* end the immediate bloodshed & let needed aid in, but it's no roadmap to Palestinian sovereignty or liberation. Sanctions, divestments, & embargos against Zionist occupation are still required.

Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 that she understood would only be released after her death.

We're not even 3 days into Omenpaths being out in Arena and I'm already at the point where, if I have to play against another Scions of the Ur Spider in Standard Brawl, I'm gonna scream. I am begging y'all to build another, more interesting deck pls.

@dilfosaur.bsky.social kabona, I am a miitopia freak without a switch 2 politely begging for you to play the new tomodachi life with @onsta.bsky.social or @drawfeeshow.com 🥺

I would love to know if concessions have increased in brawl recently with the introduction of all these high-power cards. I imagine fewer people are willing to watch someone manually play out a rofellos/staff of domination loop on arena than in paper where you can just say "I make infinite mana."

there is a pervasive business model that seems to have taken over so many things, including magic which is to no longer focus on making anything truly good, and instead shotgun blast a spread of mediocrity that casts as wide of a net as possible to try and appeal to every person all at once

@Vicmmic.bsky.social congratulations on becoming honorary president of @dropout.tv! Excited to see you use this new influence to expand your birdposting to the Dropout feed.

Echoing this sentiment, I have always appreciated the work that wikipedia has done and have donated when able. Do not ruin that good will by appending a misinformation machine to your website.

Hi mem! Is @memoriamatters.bsky.social pronounced mem-ori-ah (rhymes with euphoria) or mem-or-eeah (rhymes with diarrhea)? Because I feel like it's probably the former but the latter has been living in my mind like cursed, forbidden, knowledge. Please banish these wicked thoughts from mine own mind

I and many other Canadians will not be travelling to MagicCon Vegas in June due to the United States' hostility towards Canada and Canadians. Call your representatives and let them know that Canada is not the enemy.

I’m Canadian so I respect that I’m steps removed from all this, but if you’re a US elected official, coming on here to post, “AND he’s also done THIS horrible thing!” …if your post does not then CONTINUE with, “and I’m doing THIS about it,” then just fuck off.
