Instead of getting us all to pile into Iceland and Tesco to buy plastic bottles and processed food, couldn’t the govt suggest more environmentally friendly and healthier ways to become a Prepper? Rain water recovery, pickles and fermentation anyone? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Don’t say you weren’t warned about AI agents. Tom has a track record when it comes to predicting these things. My chief worry is that agents will get very good at *complaining*. Get ready for a tsunami of detailed and unrelenting complaint emails.
In which I share my anxiety that AI agents will arrive gradually, then all at once. Like bankruptcy. loosemore.com/2026/10/26/h...

I once had a digital project reviewed in the Times by someone writing ‘I haven’t actually tried this but I just know it’s going to be awful’. Becoming ‘tech’ correspondent can be a bit like becoming ‘culture’ secretary. You don’t have to be qualified.
I saw a screenshot of this and had to go and check if it was real. How can you be the BBC’s cyber correspondent and not have heard of PHP before yesterday? *And* now be talking confidently about it on the news. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/ck...

If you’re interested in what A.A. Milne was up to just before and just after Pooh came along, check out our podcast. Includes a trip to the zoo! podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/t...
A.A. MILNE, his son Christopher Robin, and the real Winnie The Pooh — in 1926. The first collection of his stories was published 100yrs ago today. (Milne was inspired watching his son play with a stuffed teddy he called "Edward Bear” & also by an American black bear named "Winnie" at London Zoo)
The five star reviews for St Peter’s in Gorleston include such gems as ‘good’, ‘great location’, ‘a religious place’ and ‘ok’. maps.app.goo.gl/9ert2Ex2F5Rz...
Stylish, odd, paranoid - and that’s just Rock Hudson. The Frankenheimer movie that time seems to have forgot. #amwatching #film boxd.it/gMALbx

A few years ago @moongolfer.com and I mapped out Mick Herron’s Slow Horses for our Curiously Specific Book Club podcast. This interview with Herron confirms we were ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. observer.co.uk/news/observe...

Already on the radio I’ve heard this man described as ‘colourful’. And his perjury downplayed as ‘a tricky situation’. 🧐 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
The humour and tone of this movie probably divides audiences, but I loved it. The performances of the lead actors are just fab and the Scottish island location is right up my street. Go see. #film #amwatching boxd.it/gykCVN
This movie hasn’t aged particularly well in terms of what’s supposed to be funny. But Caine and Kingsley going for the laughs are both extremely watchable. #amwatching #film boxd.it/guIFIz
Barry Adamson. I spent hours learning all the bass lines on The Correct Use of Soap. Live he was always cool and correct - new wave with Magazine and then something more spiky and weird with the Bad Seeds. And his album Oedipus Schmoedipus is one of the all time greats.
Mick Karn. He opened up new worlds for me. No, he really did. To watch him playing live was a total mystery & an absolute joy. How was he doing that, why did it sound so fabulous? Nothing was the same afterwards. That’s how hard his playing hit me. And still does.
Very much enjoying listening to Manchester City fans expressing surprise and sorrow that their team may have been cheating for the last ten years. WHO KNEW?! www.nytimes.com/athletic/704...
