god what an unforced disaster to take the team that built and maintained Destiny 2 and just smash it into the rocks instead of investing in whatever that big pile of talent and skill can build next

I feel so immensely sad for all affected, I hope you all know it was not your fault, and the worlds and stories you have created have left a massive hole that will most likely never be filled.

Today's layoffs include most of the Destiny team, some people on the Marathon team, and even various Sony staff who supported Bungie, according to people familiar with the situation.

i've never been good with words. all i can do is pack every thought into pixels and hope they can be decoded on the other end of a screen.

While this is unsurprising to me, it still feels like a massive dagger to the heart. While Destiny hasn’t been enjoyable to play much since TFS, the game means a lot to me and I am extremely grateful for the friends I’ve made out of it. Per Audacia Ad Astra

On June 9, 2026, we will be releasing our final live service content update for Destiny 2, Monument of Triumph, available to all players. 📰 For full details: bung.ie/d2_may_21_2026

Also the Bloomberg article stating that D3 still hadn’t been green-lit at this point pretty much puts the writing on the wall for Bungie. While I love what Bungie has done with Marathon, I do not see the studio lasting long past March 2027 given Sony’s track record and Marathons current struggles 😰

Following up on this, it's probably the first game I would ever say playing through the first game is mandatory, not for story reasons, but as a genuine on ramp to the games challenge. It feels like as if Shadow of the Erdtree was twice the size of Elden Ring. It's fucking incredible.

Going through Silksong it's pretty clear it was made by a dedicated and obsessive group of guys that were so used to playing their own game they forgot what it was like to be a normal person. I'm absolutely loving it but shits crazy. It's meaner than a Dark Souls game.

1 hour into Silksong and can confirm Team Cherry have absolutely been cooking up a storm. Major improvements I’ve found already over the original game include: - More direction for new players - Environments are incredible - Animations - Ambience - The sense of exploration in the early game 😍🤯🧑‍🍳

You are up to date.
