PM Carney just said 🇨🇦 is prepared to wait until Trump is OUT OF OFFICE rather than accept a bad trade deal. Think about how much has changed. A year ago, they thought they could bully 🇨🇦 into submission. Now we're ready to hold out as long as possible.

This guy is talking about literature and science?!

Many of Charleston's roads, buildings, docks, and infrastructure were built or maintained by enslaved artisans and laborers. Their work shaped the city, yet their names were forgotten—omitted, or never known. The badge system remained in force until slavery ended in 1865. (cont)

I figured last federal election PP spent so much time and money criss-crossing BC because they needed another Conservative province to open the constitution. It had Harper’s fingerprints all over it. Also Mike Roman (former IDU inner circle and indicted for US fake electors scheme) was in town too.

In the midst of a BC election with not much discussion about the climate, Vancouver writer @johnvaillant.bsky.social wrote a scorching opinion piece in the NYT about how fire behaviour is evolving in frightening ways around the world as a result of rising GHGs. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/12/o...

Question: I can't be the only one who writes about explicit seggsual violence, not for "gratuitous" purposes but to purge it, to poke holes into it with my words. But which magazines accept it? #writingcommunity

Because of #LongCovid, my 10k steps a day have tapered down to 2k. That's a good overall measure; I'm down 80% for everything in my life. Fortunately, because of decades of working on my mental health, emotionally I'm fine. Acceptance, love, and gratitude are my backbone. #vss365 #truestory

One way to spot a hitter is to look at his clothes. You'll see tight sleeves and #tapered trousers to avoid grasping, desperate fingers and jackets just big enough to hide the unsightly bulge of a pistol. It’s a distinctive silhouette we in the biz call killer couture. #vss365 #microfiction

little bit of a tangent: i once had a department chair who physically threatened me because the graduate student he was having an affair with was struggling in my class. i ended up resigning a few months later. so dating a student can have far-reaching consequences beyond the abuse of the student.

FPTP strikes again, where 23% of the population get you a majority government because when only 48% bothered to vote and only 48% voted for the winning party, it still worked out. “Strong mandate” is a myth in #BCPoli
