But here’s the bigger question: will this change their vote? IMO: no. They see this and they are okay with it because it’s what they’d do and he still is hurting the people they want to see hurt more.

Washington Post has released series of new polling this morning Perhaps this is the most striking finding:

Massive outbreaks and death aren't the only fallout from anti-vaxxers' rhetoric. Now they're going after the doctors who treat measles patients, reporting them to the state medical board. Thrilled to team up with @walkerbragman.bsky.social on this one! www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

Dear @mlb.com How dare you broadcast an ad for a salary cap during the #ALDS. How about you open all your books to show us how bad you're hurting financially before we give you billionaires a handout? I'm a Union Man, I stand with the #MLBPA ad continue to oppose a salary cap! Lockout is on YOU!

Is that Jeffrey Maier’s relative in LF? #Yankees #Rays #ALDS RULE 1: keep your damn hands on your side of the barrier! You might have cost your team a run!

Hear me out. All police misconduct cases paid out of police pension funds. Because as a citizen I'm really sick of public funds being used to pay these AND having to worry about a cop doing something shitty to me because they have no accountability.

We at Skype a Scientist are deeply troubled by the closure of the Academy of Natural Sciences. We urge you to contact Drexel University Leadership and Academy interim leader Trish Wellenbach to urge them to reopen the museum. President Merlo president@Drexel.edu Trish Wellenbach tw958@drexel.edu

And in other news, the continued campaign by #Drexel to close the #ANSP is also taking some very concerning turns. Please read these updates on efforts to get transparency to #SaveTheAcademy from closure. whyy.org/articles/aca...

whyy.orgWhat went wrong at the Academy of Natural Sciences? Former staffers point to years of missteps“There was a big push to not be known as the dinosaur museum,” said one laid-off worker. That shift came with a cost, ex-staffers say.

Moreover, with the loss of #Sternberg and #ANSP... both #FHSU and #Drexel cited "difficult choices" and "budget cuts". So, if money could be raised to sustain either, would the admins even consider it? My cynical take is "no" they've been waiting to do this and finally got the chance.

If you care about keeping the Academy of Natural Sciences open to the public in Philadelphia, I need you to read and share this thread. Trish Wellenbach was sent from the mayor's office to oversee the Academy of Natural sciences situation. She needs to hear from us. Here comes the action item:

Great thread discussing museum funding from the inside. The reason some universities are trying to divest from their museums is because they are beginning to treat each unit as an independent revenue generating entity. Museums cost money and therefore they WANT to cut them.

I've worked for a natural history museum for 11 years at this point (man, yikes) and while it is sad, it isn't surprising to see two major institutions facing closure this year.

Calling @underwood.house.gov @durbin.senate.gov @duckworth.senate.gov I think this would be enough grounds for Congress to act to stop our military action AND hold those who perpetuated this accountable? "Just following orders" didn't fly in 1946 and shouldn't now.

the necessary step 1 of rebuilding trust with our allies is prosecuting almost everyone in the trump administration for the countless crimes they have committed against the country and the world

very obvious why Canadians feel this way now but Americans still need to internalize how bad the PR damage of the last 2 years has been and how hard it is going to be to rebuild trust

Update: this horrific and devastating event was not caused by a GLOF but something else, similarly worsened by climate change - a huge chunk of ice that fell off a glacier and plunged into a river 😱

nytimes.comPhotos: A Deadly Flood Tears Through Nepal and Tibet (Gift Article)An ice avalanche that started high in the Himalayas tumbled thousands of feet, releasing vast amounts of energy that pulverized the ice into a significant volume of flood water.

Glaciers in the Himalayas are rapidly retreating under climate change, leading to widespread formation and expansion of glacial lakes and increasing the risk of glacial lake outburst floods. To date, more than 388 GLOF events have been documented in the region 😰 Source ⬇️

And for more news from this once great institution, consider the local news headline: "President of university headed to White House to discuss car racing and foster care". I'm so old, I try not to swear on the internets but honestly WTF www.ipm.org/news/2026-08...
