feeling that cultural anthropologist could make a much better furry documentary than whatever the news journalists can cook up.

this is a very biased opinion obviously. the issue is research question, direction, and goal. A journalists documentary will not provide an emic and self produced analysis that truly bridges the gap, bringing understanding to popular culture. All I can say is I hope they do better this time.

Reading the Earthsea series for the first time pn my breaks at work. And wow, what amazing writing and worldbuilding. It is a beautiful and peaceful work, and is already close to my heart

People really need more nonsense in their life. Do something that doesn't make sense. Get away from this perspective that all action needs to have some kind of value, monetary or otherwise. Do things to do them, enjoy some nonsense.
