I'm planning a truly unhinged magic the gathering holiday party this year, and figured I need maaaybe 300-500 treasure tokens, because reasons. (Un)fortunately(?) the most cost effective way to get them was to buy 4000 of them. I am about to have a comical overabundance of treasure.

I really hope this takes off. There needs to be a creative storefront marketplace that actually bans genai and drop shipping, and I hope it's a 100% ban. Etsy is completely ruined and not artist friendly. Much luck to Fybe! fybe.art

Watching people use AI makes me feel like I’m actually losing my mind. “Oh, there’s a tool that burns through natural resources, causes sickness in poor populations, was built on the back of an incredible theft of the work of people, and makes nothing of actual value or substance? Sign me up!”

At my 1st MtG Prerelease last night, I had a rough time. Not enough creatures in any 2 color combos, so I had to splash in a 3rd and still kept losing. 2 Guys tried mansplaining at me and couldn't fix it. This morning though? 241 dmg at my boyfriend over coffee in one attack phase. All better.

Today I'm being interviewed on camera for a documentary about a fandom I was very active in almost 20 years ago. Crazy to think how much it's affected the trajectory of my life, and who I have and haven't stayed in touch with, versus the people I thought I would back then.

I really hate not working, but on the plus side I've come out of my stress fueled burn out enough to work on my novel, redo our garden, and start cooking and exercising again. The healing wasn't my choice, but I will take it.

If I had a nickel for every time a company that laid me off had to pay to have me come back and train my replacement, I'd have three nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened thrice, right?

I miss getting to make new tabletop accessories. Sad I never got to make my mtg multideck bag design into a real product. I just really like the process of designing, working with manufacturers, iterating, getting samples, and then releasing a thing and seeing other folks get excited about it.

This morning, the owner of Dice Envy announced company wide layoffs. I'm now in search of admin, operations, assistant, or product development type work. Happy to work remotely or in the Burbank/ North Hollywood area of California. I'd love to stay in the TTRPG world, but happy for any leads!

It's a new year, and I am begging y'all to put captions on your streams. Don't know how? I got you. Here's a thread of captioning options for your streams. With the exception of Meld that does not have a caption plug in (yet). These should work on other stream software.

Are black Friday scams and fraud up for all small businesses like crazy this year? We usually get one or two, but my current count is in the 40s, and several of our small business friends have similar problems. it's rough out here.

it's so much easier to gift shop for freaks and nerds. why don't you try getting a hyper-specific interest with a ton of niche handcrafted accessories to support it and then maybe you'll get some treasure?? hmm???

Just a reminder that there are LOADS of small businesses, BIPOC-owned businesses, LGBTQ+-owned businesses, women owned businesses who would appreciate your holiday shopping dollars so much more than any big box retailer ever will.

❣️For all my tabletop streamer friends out there who haven’t yet heard, Twitch has just announced a brand new Tabletop Creator Club! These clubs are a way to connect with other streamers in your niche, for everything from APs and TTRPG discussion to collectible card games and mini painting. (1/3)

Ridiculous and appalling that Open Ai, amongst other GenAi companies, think they can dictate how THEY use OUR works. No, Open Ai, it should not be authors and copyright holders opting out of your exploitative models. It should be you, Open Ai, asking authors and copyright holders to opt IN.

reuters.comOpenAI's new Sora video generator to require copyright holders to opt out, WSJ reportsOpenAI is planning to release a new version of its Sora video generator that creates videos featuring copyrighted material, unless copyright holders opt out of having their work appear, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.

If "AI" was as valuable as they say it is, they wouldn't be selling it to you. They'd be using it themselves in secret to make the next Minecraft, the next Avatar, the next Hello Kitty and then they'd sell that to you. They're trying to sell you a sick goose, while pretending it lays golden eggs.

Woof, got our first tariff invoices in today. They suck as much, if not a little more than we expected. (bonus suck from the fees the shipping companies tacked on for having to generate the invoice)

The Hasbro OGL fiasco. The fragmentation of social media. The onslaught of AI slop. The ever-evolving threat of tariffs. Attempted rollbacks of safety nets. It's a minor miracle any small-time creators are left in this industry. Send best wishes to a #ttrpg creator today because times are tough.

Just returned from Dark Library: Paris 1925, an interactive musical experience in one of Gertrude Stein's salons, with a cast of literary greats to rub elbows and clink glasses with. I cannot recommend it highly enough, if you're in the LA/ North Hollywood area. www.eventbrite.com/e/dark-libra...
