On this day 65 years ago (1961): the A38 Tamar Bridge opened to traffic. Cars were charged 3s to travel between Plymouth and Cornwall on what was the longest suspension bridge in Britain.

It's not true to say that there are almost no restaurants on the motorway any more: you have Nando's, PizzaExpress and Wagamama! Really those family brands are just a modern take on the same concept. But will a lorry driver on his own get value for money at Wagamama?

On 15 September, an estimated 1/5th of the internet will be blocking access to Googlebot. Information websites are struggling. Google made themselves the only source of readership most websites get, but they are now keeping the audience for themselves, using our content, and making money from it.

With or without Google, the only way people find websites now is through word-of-mouth. So if you're stuck for something to post about, or talking about something you read, please remember to link to your favourite websites!

Warminster services was built by Granada in 1992. It was rebranded after 9 years. 25 years after that, local media (presumably using a police statement) are still trying referring to it by this name! The pinnacle of 'old habits die hard'
