YES, this is it. January 6 worked. Who orchestrated Jan 6, and where are they today. It worked.

Hunter Walker@hunterw.bsky.social

I am not even sure we can say conclusively that January 6th didn't work. There was so little punishment. Many plotters remained in office. Some moved into government. They held a coalition together and arguably acheived their key goal four years later.

Like fucking clockwork. He’s early though, usually you don’t publish nonsense like this until you win the election.

@gruber.foo I don't call you a "Nazi sympathizer, a fascist, [or] a pedophile." But I don't know how you or President Obama (!) can justify lending your credibility to Musk's platform. It's not like you can't get the word out! You're Daring Fireball. He's the best loved living President.

Also, Obama's "the same is likely to happen in this case"--also saying, there's a chance she could be legally deported--is weak sauce. Trump's persecution of Ilhan Omar is illegitimate gangster dictator shit. Even if a court allows it. It's wrong on its face.

@gruber.foo Your full-throated support of X really takes a lot of steam out of your Trump criticism. I have read you for years, and I can't fathom how you, a longtime champion of independent publishing with a loyal readership, can justify contributing your credibility to a fascist project like X.

Totally in character and consistent with all his public statements. He‘s very stable and unchanging, he’s just unbelievably selfish and an asshole.

Why does everyone blame it on mental illness? What if he’s a totally rational actor, but he literally and obviously cares only about himself? Grampa didn’t become a racist because he got old, he became a louder, more obnoxious racist because he stopped caring what other people thought.

Re-upping this post because Trump keeps sinking further into mental illness and major media keep pretending the mad pilot isn’t flying us into the side of a mountain.

If we had journalism instead of access journalism, someone would have asked Jeffries: * Who called the meeting, you or Jared? * What was the topic of the meeting? * What was decided at that meeting? * Jared is not an official member of the government, so in what capacity did you meet with him?

If so, I’d love to hear about it. And so would the voters in Michigan and Maine and Arizona and Florida. Why should we vote for you? What will you do to reassert America’s rule of law? How will you defend her embattled institutions?

But we’ve been watching Trump demolish America’s institutions, safeguards, rule of law, and all of our international relationships. We watch them daily murdering our fellow citizens, jeopardize our food supply, exposing our children to horrible diseases, and attacking our election system.

They have embroiled us in destabilizing the Middle East by starting a war with Iran that we have already lost and cannot win. They have pardoned, and even paid taxpayer money to the Jan 6 insurrectionists. And at every turn they have used the government to enrich themselves.

There are some exciting Democratic candidates running, but none of them will be in leadership positions. What will you lead this new class of Democrats to do?

Because what I’m expecting, and what will make me lose my mind, is for you all to start saying things like, “we’re not looking backward, we’re looking forward, to doing the business of the American people” or some other tepid nonsense like this.

Putting aside how gross it is to deal with the Trump people AT ALL: what could Jeffries be asking for, that he thinks Trump will actually follow through on? On what basis would he or anyone trust Trump? Jeffries has to go.

Susan Collins is one of the five wirst people in this whole rotten administration (and I know she’s a Senator and not in the admin). But her Concerns give them a lot of cover and she never lifts a finger to check them. Up there with RFK and Hegseth.

Everyone should keep Canada in mind whenever any talk of an Iranian peace deal comes up. Our closest ally doesn’t trust Trump on what should be simple trade agreements. There won’t be a deal with Iran—and maybe anyone else—until Trump is out of office.

I’ve seen it thirty times or so and it’s still absolutely sharp, hilarious, and good hearted. Cleavon Little is brilliant and absolutely perfect, both the funnyman and the straight man

When was the last time anyone in the media recorded video of McConnell speaking and functioning? I don't buy any "statements" from him or any of his staff or cronies.

People have such a hard time accepting that more people died of Covid under Biden because of specific policy decisions that he made. It wasn't just spill over from Trump. The Omicron surge killed more people than the initial surge. Spending Covid money on more cops and jails, was a bad call.

Mekka Okereke@mekka.mekka-tech.com

Again, Biden was president when Omicron hit NYC. Lagos and NYC got their first cases of Omicron from Italy within 24hrs. Nigeria caught theirs due to this screening. But you could land at LaGuardia, take the subway to Times Square, without ever being screened.🤦🏿‍♂️ Biden never added this screening.🤷🏿‍♂️

Maybe? But I’m not sure what they should do differently. He announces a pirate’s toll? Report that. He walks it back days later? Report that too. The press can’t impeach him or article 25 him. And the craziness of his actions speaks for itself.

Utterly useless press corps. Our top news orgs are accepting Trump's bullshit excuse for his TACO flip-flop on his bullshit toll plan at face value, instead of reporting that he's deranged, impulsive and utterly irresponsible.. www.washingtonpost.com/world/2026/0...
