Delighted to have contributed a story to this upcoming anthology from Swan River Press.

We recently announced our newest anthology, UNCERTAINTIES 8. Anthologies are among the hardest projects to finance, but worth doing because it's a great way to showcase contemporary writers. Ordering a copy is the best way to show your support for these writers: swanriverpress.ie/srp-title/un...

I wrote about terrible new “neo-western” series The Madison

The Madison review – Michelle Pfeiffer’s new drama is thuddingly simplistic

theguardian.comThe Madison review – Michelle Pfeiffer’s new drama is thuddingly simplisticThis yawnsome homespun six-parter from the creator of Yellowstone aims to teach the womenfolk a lesson by dropping them into untamed, plain-talkin’ Montana. It’s full of terrible jokes and cloying aphorisms

Mass market paperbacks were always my favourite format. Made the idea and the feel of a book so exciting - a compact self-contained world you could carry round in your pocket. Genuinely sad they’re going. Trade paperbacks are just the ‘cheap’ version of a hardback. Not their own thing at all.

RIP Mass market paperbacks. Always my preferred format. www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/...

Hi folks. Sadly, the flu, which looks like it might be Covid after all, has laid me low and I’m having to cancel my remaining tour dates this side of Christmas. These will be rescheduled for next year. Hugely sorry to those who were looking forward to seeing Garth this week & next. But he’ll be back

Huge apologies, but sadly Garth/me is down with flu and won’t be able to make his/my two Cambridge shows tonight & tomorrow. Hugely sorry for the late notice but I was hoping we could somehow manage it still, but alas we’ve more or less collapsed. Both gigs will hopefully be rescheduled for January.

I’ve written about the return of The Witcher.

The Guardian@theguardian.com

The Witcher season four review – Liam Hemsworth is as charismatic as a bollard in a wig

theguardian.comThe Witcher season four review – Liam Hemsworth is as charismatic as a bollard in a wigThe replacement that Netflix has chosen for lead actor Henry Cavill is utterly lacking in his predecessor’s likability. The ex-Neighbours actor is a scowling lunk who brings a wildly uneven vibe to this fantasy drama
