From my home office. Mass Effect is only one of three games prominently featured that I never worked on. No, I am not over Bioware shutting down.

After getting back in the Final Fantasy X mood over the weekend, I watched some ending reactions on YT (never watched these before) and I am glad to see I am not the only one that still gets emotional over it. That being said, the Japanese ending is superior and you will never change my mind.

How does a character - and the unapologetic portrayal of that character - make such an impact in only two episodes, I would watch a 3-season spin-off telling her story? Call me Lohar, Dragon Slayer

I was very sad today to hear that Robert "Bobby" Prince passed away at 81. Industry legend. Pioneer. Wholesome human. Bobby composed the music for Wolfenstein, Doom, Spear of Destiny, Duke Nukem and many more. My thoughts go out to his wife, Connie, and his two sons. Thanks for everything Bobby😔

I want to congratulate the FIFA and the United States government for already - before a single ball has been kicked - organizing the worst World Cup in history.

No contest, the Crow. Even though I never read the comic and didn't know it was a comic when I watched the movie. Other option would have been Watchmen, yes I liked the movie a lot, sue me. Also didn't read the comics until after the movie.

Name your fav non-DC or Marvel comic book movie.

I've been in this industry for 30+ years, made deals with the biggest guys, spent hours going over ridiculously overbearing 'legalese', battled with the toughest licensors protecting their IPs, and yet I feel like the way we do business improves the most when I make a deal with small indies.

This might be the worst, most detached from reality, take on anything video game related I have seen since Phil Fish's "Japanese games suck". I rate it only slightly better than Notch's racist and misogynistic comments.

Good to clear up the credits for the design, except in this case it's not just crediting, it's plain theft (too many similarities in execution). Shame on you miHoYo.

Michael Kamm@michaelkamm.games

Last year, miHoYo copied my puzzle game Ouros in Zenless Zone Zero. Because they are a recognized, billion-dollar studio and my game isn't well known, some people are now assuming that their version is the original, and mine is the clone. I hope this video clears that up.

No no, using AI to write stuff instead of thinking about what we want to write for ourselves will definitely not make us humans any dumber....

Here is a strange call: we look for a gamedev producer! Imagine we are opening a publishing house soon. Imagine we love thoughtful narrative games, games with mysteries and novel experiences. And imagine we're looking for a producer who would love to work with these kind of games. Maybe it's you?⤵️

Sometimes you work on a graphic for a project presentation and then you can't stop staring at it for the next 10 minutes straight because it suddenly hits you what you've done in your career. 🤨

This kinda summarizes why I have lost my interest in computers, software and the internet as a whole. The spammers and the scammers have made it uninteresting and a frustration to use.

I saw this a while back and copied it to make my own - fun exercise - but boy, is it hard to make choices. I have trouble calling anything "best" anyway. But hey, I tried...but now I can't find the original post anymore to quote post. Sorry, whoever I stole this from!

It's transgender day of visibility, my stance is that that people are people, and if people can live the way they want to, everybody will be happier...let's highlight some ridiculously talented trans people. Sofia Ajram - Bram Stoker award winning author @sofiaajram.bsky.social

People stifling independent contractors on their invoices is not welcome in my industry. "I'm not going to pay you because you can't sue me" is Trump-level abhorrent behavior. We've seen where that leads.

Reasons I love my wife, #37 She comes home from work, tired and ready for bed. Goes to the bathroom while I make her a snack and while I'm in the kitchen, I hear her get out of the bathroom and loudly exclaim: "BEGONE, VILE CLOTHING".

A lot of people say AI isn't very good for the world and its outputs are routinely unreliable, but these haters fail to see how it's revolutionizing how we incinerate schoolchildren.

To strike 1,000 targets in 24 hours in Iran, the U.S. military leveraged the most advanced AI it’s ever used in warfare. Anthropic’s Claude partnered with the military’s Maven Smart System, suggesting targets and issuing precise location coordinates. https://wapo.st/46BFe1T

My (American) wife today just before going to sleep: "I am beginning to feel a lot like we're Russia." I didn't have a counter argument to make her feel better.

I realize this is probably just an 'old man yells at cloud' moment, but I am baffled by all these tiktoks/reels where people talk to you - the viewer - while holding a microphone. Sometimes a weird tiny thing with a fuzzy on top, sometimes a while desk-mic thing (with stand!). It's weird to me.

I hope things in our industry change for the better in the future. I will not allow anyone to feel this way again.

In addition to my previous quote post: quite some years ago I invited Mimi Page, a phenomenal LA based singer/composer to dinner at GDC. This was a group dinner mind you - not an awkward attempt at getting a date. Her *husband* called me to make sure it was legit. Good man. Invited him too.

I often want to invite brilliant composers that I don't personally know yet to these dinners, but I am *incredibly* careful when inviting women. Too many bad experiences on their part, and I don't want to be the next one. I don't even want them to think I could. Sexist assholes ruin so much.
