People keep wondering why they're going after Venezuela. It's because they want to do regime change and control its oil, then use a big tract of land there to keep a tax free "network state" that looks like Dubai but operates like Rhodesia. They are saying this out loud! Believe them!

Guys: it really shouldn't take *elonfuckingmusk* to point out the insanity of trialling puberty blockers on 10 YEAR OLD kids who by definition cannot give informed consent to lifelong damage. Mentally ill or confused kids should get to talk to professionals, not suffer this ghoulish dogmatic abuse.

If John Swinney hasn’t had enough of experts, he should reflect on what Dieter Helm says here about the cost of offshore wind in Scotland. Swinney’s mantra about Scotland’s “low-cost” renewables is simply false. (Note: the wholesale price in electricity bills today is ~£83/MWh.)

The greens aren’t interested in providing power from renewables, they have blocked multiple solar projects. They just want to play politics and stop any progress on transportation, power, housing and most damaging would leave NATO making the UK even move vulnerable

The difference between having a king and a president is this: in theory, the king is accountable to God but is in practice constrained by parliament In theory the president is accountable to the people but is in practice unconstrained by the constitution

Okay enough. Pure DARVO. Every Sturgeon accusation is projection. Thank God she's finished, and is off to London to live among her fawning admirers.

Following on from the news that my and Aaron Levene’s long running compilation show, Jew-O-Rama, was being cancelled by Whistlebinkies due to concerns over “staff safety”, yesterday I learnt that my solo show, Shall I Compere Thee in a Funny Way? was being dropped by Banshee Labyrinth. 1/8

The Democratic Party’s capitulation to the Crypto lobby is one of the most nakedly corrupt things I’ve seen in my life. Crypto is a blatant scam with zero value that is designed to end popular control of our currency. Dems just co-signed the next global financial crisis. It’s unforgivable.

Jonathan Cohn @jonathancohn.bsky.social

The House voted 308 to 122 for the GENIUS Act, the corrupt crypto industry bill to set the stage for the next financial crisis, encourage money laundering, and bless Trump's corruption. 102 Democrats voted yes, including 4 out of the 5 memberships of House Dems's Leadership Team.

Three years of intense lobbying from supporters and opponents of zonal pricing is over. Which camp did the SNP belong to? And why? Did some of the lobbying exaggerate the truth? And does the SNP have a coherent vision for electricity market reform?

Good luck America. I have two friends on Medicaid for cancer meds I'm sure they'll be out picking strawberries tomorrow

Brooke Rollins on farm laborers: "There will be no amnesty. The mass deportations continue, but in a strategic way. And we move the workforce toward automation and 100% American participation, which with 34 million able-bodied on Medicaid we should be able to do fairly quickly."

The entitlement is off the charts. This is why the Dems lose

The day after Zohran Mamdani rocked the nation’s largest city by becoming the presumptive Democratic mayoral nominee, New York’s political leaders declined to formally endorse him, and some donors to former Gov. Andrew Cuomo considered coalescing behind Mayor Eric Adams.

Lavrov stated that Israel has no right to "interpret the UN Charter on self-defense" as a license to decide on its own when to invoke that right. This comes from the mouth of someone who has been citing the UN Charter for four years straight to justify a treacherous attack on Ukraine.

One group of people, however well-meaning or however well disposed you are toward their arguments, do not own this platform. Blocklists are immature and possibly a morbid symptom.

“We don’t trade children. That’s madness - and by the way, it’s something the Russians actually proposed: we give them soldiers, and they give us children. It’s simply beyond comprehension, beyond international law. But it’s typical of them. Children must be returned,” Zelensky stated.

Ca Gov Gavin Newsom: “The President of the US just called for the arrest of a sitting Governor. This is a day I hoped I would never see in America. “I don’t care if you’re a Democrat or a Republican this is a line we cannot cross as a nation — this is an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism.”

Absolutely nothing wrong with activists celebrating a win in the moment, but the impression I'm getting is that a fair amount of them don't seem to get that this a very flawed win which puts them on track for a worst-ever Holyrood result.

I don’t think the situation is anywhere near as bad here. I know people who are on the Right or who voted Brexit & there are topics I deliberately don’t discuss with them. Some families here have splintered due to this but the toxicity in general is not on the level of the US. Long may that continue

What’ll happen in America, is what happened here to people who voted Tory or for Brexit - they will be cancelled by friends and family and treated as pariahs. (What else could they possibly expect 🤷‍♀️)
