17 Good News! No bear has been injured. Bendor and Arthur are fine. Just a very realistic practice and every #MountaineeringBears performed brilliantly! Such an amazing team!

In b&q thinking about halloween paint colours. Vampire black, ghostly white, ectoplasm grey or green, venous blood purple,. What colour would you add? #halloween

This Halloween, think of wildlife! Here's how you can protect animals: - Ditch the fake spiderwebs... Birds and other wildlife can get tangled in webs, string, cotton wool, balloons and more, causing injury or starvation.

Dear Henry @keepfits.bsky.social and all our pals, our apologies for missing #keepfits. Humans are in minor crisis trying to install a bathroom heater and did not notice the time. We hope they will do better next week or we will be sacking them.

18 I have to say tonight the performance of all the #MountaineeringBears totally exceeded our expectations. Pals you are amazing. Time for snacks. iI hope some brought cake.

Thank you furriends for climbing with the #MountaineeringBears and for all the pals that cheered us along. We hope you all had lots of fun and will see you in the mountains soon.

@jerryscucina.bsky.social Hi Jerry, I am not sure if saw it but you were climbing last night!

1 welcome to the first #MountaineeringBears advanced rock climbing course. Group 1 is climbing in the Northern Cairngorms, group 2 are in North West Scotland . Can everyfur introduce themselves and share their hopes and fears for the course.

16 #MountaineeringBears oh No! Has Arthur and Bendor been hurt by the fallen rocks. The teams work seamless together using all the rescue skills they have been learning.

15 #MountaineeringBears On top of Quinag Bears are busy building anchors and setting up pulleys. It looks like a rescue effort is underway.

14 #MountaineeringBears Over on Quinag team 2 are also near the top of the crag. But then some loose rocks at the top of the cliff start to fall on the climbers below.

11 #MountaineeringBears When you are climbing high on a crag and you are wondering where to put some climbing gear or how to make the next move remember you are in the middle of a golden circle. You have everything you need within that circle and nothing outside of it matters at all.

10. It always important to test every hold and every gear placement to make sure the rock is solid and not loose. Especially on mountaineering routes. #MountaineeringBears

9. #MountaineeringBears on a multi pitch route the climbers take turn to lead. The belay stances can be very small, sometimes just hanging from an anchor. Trying not to get all the ropes and anchors tangled is not easy.

8 #MountaineeringBears Climbing with double ropes allows a team of three to climb together. It can also be reduce rope drag if your route wanderers around, but belaying with two ropes at once, knowing which ones to feed out and which to take it can be tricky.

7 #MountaineeringBears With the gear unpacked and the ropes flaked out Munro shows the climbers how to safely place different types of climbing gear so that it will stay in place and hold you if you fall.

6. #MountaineeringBears But wherever you are climbing just reaching the base of a climb often involves scrabbling and scrambling up steep vegetation and scree.

5 #MountaineeringBears With the first part of their practice complete it is time for the teams to make their way to the main climb of the day. Group one will be climbing in The Loch Avon Basin and Group 2 will be climbing on Quinag in Assynt.

4. #MountaineeringBears Self Rescue Techniques. Team 1 Learn how to attach a causality to a stretcher to raise or lower them to safety. LPB learns how to secure a belay so you can escape to get help if the climber falls. Arthur and Bernee are setting up a rescue pulley.

3 #MountaineeringBears Munro teaches the teams how to build secure climbing anchors, making sure that each piece of gear is secure and the complete anchor is equalised. The belayer is attached to the anchor and if the climber falls it must hold both their weight.

2. #MountaineeringBears Bouldering is a very useful way to practice the hard climbing moves. The team here are also learning to spot for each other so if a pal falls off the rock they can make sure they land safely.
