What's the deal with Jake's Magical Market... feels like the author wanted to write a completely different book after the first volume. I was expecting a Recettear kind of tale where the shopkeeper has to occasionally gather things to sell, not shopkeeper-turned-god kills and consumes other gods...

Friendly reminder that you can play Final Fantasy XIV and it's first two expansions for free without any restrictions on playtime. With one character you can play dozens of jobs with different play styles, changing between them at the click of a button. (This isn't an ad, I just love the game)

I tried to take a couple of photos of the Eclipse, this was the best one I could manage. Sadly a little blurry as I don't have a tripod. Before and after a quick touch-up. Taken with a Sony a6400/Tamron 18-300. Kinda cool it is upside down compared to most photos as I'm in the southern hemisphere.

Been really into the LitRPG genre for a little while, burning through audiobooks as fast as I can get them. Series of note that I've consumed this far include: - The Wandering Inn - Dungeon Crawler Carl - The Primal Hunter - He Who Fights With Monsters - All the Skills - Defiance of the Fall

All the Skills - this one threw me. I thought it was just another fantasy with dragons and power scaling but, there is a big twist later in the story that I didn't see coming. It follows Arthur, the child of a convict who stumbles into high society. Has a cool magic system and dragons. Fantastic.

Defiance of the Fall is another multiverse concept, basically Primal Hunter on hard mode (it was written first). I'm still working through the first book on this one but the system feels rough and not well fleshed out - though I hear the story improves a lot, looking forward to that.

The Primal Hunter is a semi-light-hearted take on a multiverse concept where earth is unwillingly inducted into a level-based system. It follows Jake, an office worker turned chosen of a god, who just wants peace and quiet. A fun power fantasy with comedic writing and a range of great characters.

He Who Fights With Monsters is a slapstick comedy Isekai that follows Jason, an Australian who is accidentally killed and revived in another world then subsequently thrown into a power struggle between gods and greater beings. Ride with typical no-nonsense Aussie humour paired with great narration.

The Wandering Inn is an epic, with over 13 million words written so far with more to come. It's an Isekai-style story primarily following Erin, a chess savant turned Innkeeper who finds herself sent to a world of magic and monsters. Incredibly expansive with a ton of believable characters.

Dungeon Crawler Carl is more of a tragic comedy; set on Earth which has just experienced a hostile takeover by a galactic corporation, the survivors are forced into a death game for the entertainment of trillions (think Survivor but violent... very violent). A fun ride with amazing narration.
