Former Florida Manβ’, now a mountaineer hermit. Fungi enthusiast, fluid artist, and mixed media crafter. ADHD-infused trash goblin full of anxiety and coffee. Aromantic demi-ace, he/him.
π Hey y'all, I'm Cody, your friendly former Floridian fungus fancier, now in West Virginia!
I do assorted fluid arts, from pour painting to casting plaster and resin. I'm also posting my way through fixing up my 1900's house. Advice is always welcome!

Okay, well, itβs progress of sorts?
Z axis must be too high now instead of too low. Overtightened the screws, maybe?
β¦Looks like one of those carbon firework snakesβ¦
First time getting this deep into the mechanics of one of these printers. Exciting yet terrifying ~
The Anycubic support tech believed it was likely these screws that needed tensioning, and they did turn out to be sitting pretty loosely. Snugged βem up and am rerunning calibrations now π€

Think itβs time to get customer service involvedβ¦ Followed all the possible fixes I could find online but weβre still chewing up the bed on that first layer
Just got the estimate for adding a heat pump system to my house.
25 *freakin* grand.
There are jobs that I feel comfortable with DIYing, but unfortunately this isn't one of them... The expense of heating this place with oil really isn't tenable though, thanks to our knucklehead in chief. Yeesh...
Getting the wiring redone was a prerequisite to this, and that was 21 right there and included a backhoe rental to chunk through the boulders that make up so much of the yard.
Not super into the idea of more than doubling this year's reno expenses... Guh. I need to figure out some numbers #haushaus

Damn printer's out of commission until I can figure this out. Tried a small test and the nozzle immediately started carving away into the bed.
Going to guess it's something's come loose in the print head assembly and start there. Irritated either way. These plates ain't cheap.

Spent most of the day in bed, blechβ¦ Exhausted from fighting this bugβ¦
May have to call out tomorrow, but that always looks so suspicious when youβd taken Friday off -_-
Went visiting family this weekend and came away with good news for a change
Wish it wasnβt a six hour drive each way for it, but said good news means not dealing with that much longer so yay

Attempting to refill a prescription I've been taking weekly for four years now:
Doctor: k
Pharmacy: k
Insurance: who the fuck are you and why do you steal our precious elixirs
Having the kind of work frustrations that make a fella want to walk into the woods to go lay down in the moss and then stay in the moss and become the moss and have to file next year's taxes as moss

What the hell happened here?
Itβs like the plate coating just adhered to this print??
The raft looked weird too, like it only partially printed?
Not even sure where to begin diagnosing this

When the cold creeps in and the wind is howling, the only cure is to curl up with a feline friend. Ghosts and specters enjoy a good lap cat, after all, they were only human once too.

Trying to baby my wrist after straining it through the Herculean activity of Picking Up A Sorta Heavy Bucket earlier today
Damn frailties of the flesh, I got things to do
Spent a fair bit of time wandering around the historic section of Harper's Ferry today.
I suppose this is technically their "busy" season, since so many people were there to look at the leaves plus the anniversary of John Brown's raid.
Lots of folks in historic gear doing retellings of the events!
Spent the day touching grass and taking pictures β¨
Should probably investigate how to properly edit RAW files at some point, I feel like I'm just winging it with the contrast sliders in Affinity here
Rooting in the garage for something and found the electricians left behind the Horrifying Doohickey Outlet, probably to avoid being cursed by the ghosts that inhabit the wires
Feel like I need to mount this somewhere as part of the reno ephemera. Maybe a little plaque? #haushaus
This Day in Labor History: October 16, 1859. John Brown and a group of followers invade the federal arsenal at Harpers Ferry, Virginia (today WV) to start a war and end slavery. Let's talk about this key moment in American labor history!
