Want to work in a great lab that does amazing science, with a super nice PI? Look no further! Bonus: my lab is their neighbors 😉
WE'RE HIRING! Thanks to some recent successes with NIH funding, we're seeking two new postdoctoral scholars to join our team. See below for details. Please share widely and feel free to reach out with any questions!
Huge congrats to Robert and Paige from my lab, and thanks to our fantastic collaborators in the Rudel lab! Grateful to our reviewers and wonderful editor Sunny Shin for helping strengthen the work! Check it out here: journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/...

Stunning microscopy and fascinating new insights from @lamasonlab.bsky.social on Rickettsia-ER contact sites. Incredible work!
Yamilex Acevedo-Sánchez et al. @lamasonlab.bsky.social characterize a novel interkingdom contact site between the ER and a cytosolic bacterial pathogen. They report that these bacteria–ER contacts (BERCs) require the tethering proteins VAPA and VAPB. https://buff.ly/4gXzZfI
Registration is open for the NSF-funded Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program in Microbiology at the Host-Pathogen Interface. This 10-week summer program places students in bacteriology, immunology, parasitology, or virology research labs. bit.ly/3ACBJvt
🎉 Big congratulations to MSTP student Xavier Tijerina and Postdoctoral Fellow Jabeena on the release of their exciting preprint! 🚀 Their work sheds new light on CpoS and its interactions with host and other Inc proteins! Check it out here: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Had a fantastic time hosting @shames-lab.bsky.social for an inspiring seminar! Incredible science and exciting insights—thanks for sharing your work with us!
You are up to date.
