Today marks one year since the horrific violence committed against the Hortmans and Hoffmans. Melissa Hortman, Mark, and Gilbert should still be here today. We mourn their loss, and we remain committed to upholding their legacy. May they rest in peace.

The Minnesota GOP held a moment of silence for Derek Chauvin. Lisa Demuth refused to condemn it. Adam Schwarze refused to condemn it. The Chair of the MNGOP refused to condemn it. We all know why: it’s because they support the murderer Derek Chauvin.

Minneapolis stood up to federal occupation and demonstrated love for our community. We showed the world what courage and resilience looks like. May we honor the memories of Renee Good and Alex Pretti and continue to be a voice for the people. Thank you, Minneapolis 💙🩵

I want to thank Carolina Ortiz, Imam Yusuf Abdulle, Natalie Ehret, and Zena Stenvik for receiving this award on behalf of the Twin Cities. Jason Chavez 3/ *This is being reposted from CM Chavez’s Official Accounts*

Being a DFLer means celebrating the people who have made our state stronger like Melissa Hortman, Paul Wellstone, and Walter Mondale. Being a Minnesota Republican means holding a moment silence for the murderer Derek Chauvin. That’s why we’re going to win in November.

What happened here in Minnesota was not unique, and we must stand unified against the violence targeting our immigrant communities. To our friends in New Jersey: we are with you. We see you. We stand with you. Stay strong.

Tonight, the People of Minneapolis are being awarded the Profile in Courage Award—and there can be no doubt that they are deserving. At the same time, the people of New Jersey are fighting the same fight at Delaney Hall. We stand strong with New Jersey.

I am a child of the DFL. I know what our party can accomplish when we work together. I am so incredibly honored and humbled to be the Minnesota DFL’s choice for U.S. Senate.

A proven champion who can deliver for working families. Peggy Flanagan is the Minnesota DFL endorsed candidate for U.S. Senate! 💚

While the MN GOP convention continues to crash and burn, we at the DFL now have our endorsed slate of candidates. Peggy Flanagan for Senate Amy Klobuchar for Governor Keith Ellison for AG Steve Simon for SoS Zack Filipovich for Auditor We’re going to win this November.

We are heartbroken by today’s violence at the Canterbury Park Expo Center. No one should fear violence while celebrating and practicing their faith. Our hearts are with the victims, their families, and all who have been impacted by this tragedy.

Today marks six years since the murder of George Floyd. He should still be alive today. We mourn George Floyd, we honor his memory, and we continue to work towards a better future where no one has to fear violence at the hands of law enforcement.

The Minnesota Young DFL has signed on to this open letter calling for Latonya Reeves to resign from her Party positions. We respect Latonya Reeves’ right to run for office, but she must do so in accordance to the DFL’s Constitution, or face consequences.

I am honored to have received an A+ rating from Minnesota Young DFL (MYDFL)! The time to share power with young people is now. We have the opportunity to change the way our political systems function, with a focus on people, our environment, and our communities over profit by corporations. (1/2)

For the first time, we are releasing candidate ratings alongside our endorsement for the State Auditor race. We are impressed by Zack Filipovich as we are Ben Scheirer. They, in their own ways, have demonstrated a commitment to bold policies that uplift young Minnesotans.

As such, we will be awarding both Ben Scheirer and Zack Filipovich an A+ rating. These ratings reflect each candidate’s qualifications, preparedness for the office, & alignment with the priorities of young Democrats. Ben Scheirer will remain our sole endorsed candidate.

We are proud to endorse Ben Schierer for State Auditor. Ben understands that this office should be about accountability, transparency, and making public dollars work for Minnesotans—and he has the record to prove it. We are excited to endorse Ben, and help him win in November!

There is no DFL without Labor. On May Day we celebrate the tireless efforts of workers around the world, who are fighting for a better future for us all. Happy International Worker’s Day!

We would like to add that the DFL Environmental Caucus has joined this letter as well. Other caucuses are welcome to sign on!

When Nick Shirley, Lisa Demuth, and House Republicans attacked our Somali neighbors, we stood up. When reporters and activists were arrested, we stood up. When our immigrant neighbors were kidnapped, we stood up. When our partners in this work were murdered, we stood up. Why should we sit now?

We’re not done celebrating the women who make Minnesota great! Another appreciation post for the women of the DFL who are showing the country what leadership looks like.

In Minnesota we pride ourselves on having strong, competent leadership at every level of government. From school boards to Congress, women make Minnesota proud. This March, we celebrate the women in the DFL who make our Party the best in the nation. Happy Women’s History Month!

The midterms are here! This year, the Minnesota Young DFL will be endorsing in races up and down the ballot. Anyone running for office can fill out our endorsement questionnaire. Our deadline to submit is March 14th. DM us if you have questions!

Donald Trump promised to be a peace president. Now, he’s threatening war with Iran. We firmly reject the President’s warmongering and we urge Minnesota’s elected officials to speak out against any armed conflict with Iran.

We owe a great debt to the Rev. Jesse Jackson, who paved the way for so many leaders of today. Reverend Jackson was a civil rights icon, a steadfast ally to Labor, and a shining example of what it means to organize for a better future. May he rest in peace.
