My main gripe with the Odyssey is “Zeus’ Law,” which after being repeated a number of times not only sounds of place (because of the Christian framing) but also just sounds silly to say. If Nolan just kept “Xenia” and did a little more exposition explaining it, the script would be a lot better

film and books gaining prestige due to their age is such an interesting concept. telling people you watch silent movies today is considered pretentious but in the 1920s a buster keaton feature probably has a closer connotation to minions 3 than anything remotely intellectual

Realizing that Wyatt Russell is Kurt Russel’s kid after watching ‘The Thing’ and woke up in the middle of the night realizing he’s named after Wyatt Earp in Tombstone

Happy #LetterboxdFriday! Time to post your #LastFourWatched 🤔

imo Backrooms is about decay. The unsettling factor is because we view decay as a natural state that pushes the world closer to nature, things (and ‘life‘) in the Backrooms decay into increasingly unnatural states and strays further and further from nature.

the still lifes are particularly disturbing not because they’re deformed but because that’s just an immortal version of you that just exists forever, trapped in their body

Happy Pride Month. If you're a gay man, please remember your power. People often think that gay men are innately fashionable, which means if you wear some stupid shit for long enough, straight people, including homophobes, will copy you and then you can laugh at them.
